You don't employ a miniature sculptor on a (presumably) high wage and then have him/her do packing monkey work. Whatever difficulties there are at MGP's production facility or distribution centre, it's not going to be solved by sending unqualified people there to deal with it.

but likewise, som guy sat designing ships, that may never get to see the light of day is financially a dead duck!
True, but as skilled professionals, most would rather quit than pack boxes for a few months.

yes we can all just quit jobs and forget about bills, mortgages family etc :D personally if i was being paid highly but had to do a lower scale job occasionally on my higher scale pay it wouldnt matter to me too much.

I rate job satisfaction above pay, if I had to pack boxes all day on my current salary then I'd look for a new job.

i did say occasionally burger. jobs are not always easy to find. and like i said some people have bigger things to worry about that complete job satisfaction. like actually living.

So you´re saying the sulptor should be happy to have any job at all and start paking stuff for a change?

That still wouldn´t help increasing production, you need to know what you´re doing when casting miniatures, just as you need to when sculpting them - surely you couldn´t just send some folks from the foundry into an office with some tools and moddeling putty and say: "Here´s your new job, we need ship X until tomorrow afternoon, good luck", either...

Yes true but some people don't. And those people are generally the higher paid ones. So they are the people who would rather quit than pack boxes. The ones who have to worry about living are usually lower-paid, such as the full-time box packers (if there are any?!).

but being a mini sculptor I would guess isnt a huge in demand job. and also doesnt relate to alot of other jobs. so the occasional bit of box packing to help out knowing you have a sculpting job or redundancy looking for a job where your skills have some use or ending up in some low paid unskilled job as you cant find another mini-sculptor job.

The sculptor of the old Brivoki is certainly pretty unskilled

And he´s not on MGP´s employment list anymore, or is he?

Besides, the quality of the new ships has increased a lot, but IIRC the current sculptor (Adrian?) is involved in a gazillion other things within the studio as well?

As a web designer (so, part artist) that until not too long ago used to work for a small e-commerce company, I can say that I didn't mind occasionally helping out with packing and the like. It'll mainly come down to the personality of the individual I'm guessing, but it's not such a radical idea.

It's a management issue. As a manager and former business owner I can tell you the problem is in priorities and management. Unhappy customers will trump new toys every time.
