when you say 2 ships in hyperspace is that 2 battle level points of ships or 2 actual ships be they patrol or another level?

yep if you want to miss out on their long range lasers the 1st turn and then come out close to the enemy to lower your own stealth then fine.

Ships is Ships, FAPs is FAPs. If it says Ships, it means Ships ;)

Who said they're coming in close?

well he asked who ordered the blackstar - that did a JP bomb so thats close to me.
but still if you not JP bombing them you might as well start with them on the board and use their range from the start.

It also fought in many other battles.

You don't think that being behind or to the side of the enemy is an advantage? ;)

Or jump into the naturally weak rear arc, thus forcing the opposition to decide whether to split his fleet attempting to turn his ships to engage this threat or APTE to close with the forces to the front with his naturally stronger frontal firepower.

well if its 2 sharlins i would turn as thats most of his fleet.
You haven't seen my fleet list, obviously
And if you've got a Narn Bat Squad then you lose at least 2 or 3 turns of firing while you turn, and then you're still at 20" +.

Ace, so whilst turning you have no/minimal targets in your forward arc and the minbari get to pick off whatever they choose as they will have the entirety of there forward weapons fire focused on you from both elements of the fleet?

Yes, as you can see there is very good reason to use hyperspace but not JP bomb. Of course, the enemy may have ships in hyperspace of his own ;)

I was really talking about AJP initially as I thought one could fire and special action a sharlin if one used another ships (Tigara) AJP JP action.
Also, yes can see the hope that an opponent would have to split the fleet to counter this as the stealth would be reduced and tempt him away from the smaller ships coming ahead...so both parties are correct....

If your talking 2 Sharlins then better you could jump them in behind the nemy but at different corners so he has to choose to turn to one of them, the other one or the rest of your fleet. In any case hes going to have to leave something in his aft arc blasting him with Neutron Lasers. I would NEVER JP bomb with Minbari though, its just stupid and leaves you vulnerable and is frankly a waste of the opertunity to jump in 20" behind your enemies and make them waste whole turns before they can bring their weapons to bear again.

Personally I would start with a Sharlin on board. Then jump in the Black star behind enemy lines, with a smaller ship with lower stealth (say anew trolli  ) just too give my opponent a choice. Then keep the sharlin at range and use the BS to destroy the fleet from behind. If the oppoent tries to turn to face the BS I would let him for untill the sharlin is out of front arc, and then chase with the BS.

Of course you have 2 ships in hyperspace, so one can JP-bomb, and the other can make a convenient table entry point 20" behind the enemy...

better keep some of my own in hyperspace then just in case :)
knew there was a reason for Liatis
Knew there was a reason for the aft Neutron Laser on the Sharlin, too ;)
