Another Barbarian Book

I found this: http://lpjdesign.rpgnow.com/product...796&it=1&filters=0_0_0_0&manufacturers_id=603

That's the pdf. Here's the print version: http://www.lulu.com/product/paperback/fury-frenzy/542724

From what I can tell, and in speaking with owners of it (friends on the net), the book is only a collection of various Barbarian-style classes and feats. Looks like its 75% useful for a Conan game (if you really want to dig in and make your Barbarians from different culutres "different"). But, I understand you'll have to throw out some high fantasy in some of these classes.

Not as good as these supplements (from what I've gathered): http://www.misfit-studios.com/products/oglbarbarian.html

But, still, you might get some use out of them.

For example, my upcoming campaign is set in Cimmeria. I'm going to run a sandbox game, and follow the players' whims rather then lead them in a direction I want them to go.

If they stay in Cimmeria, I'll create plenty for them to do--and that Fury & Frenzy book might just come in handy making characters for different types of Cimmerian clans.

The AD&D Barbarian has always been seen as a "difficult" class; I think your idea of a wholly Cimmerian game might be a good baseline for a AD&D Barbarian-only game.

My last trip to Lulu for a barbarian book was for this one:

Mostly setting and adventures, the book, although designed for BRP based games can, be adapted very easily to Conan.

I hear there's some good stuff in Mongoose's own Quintessential Barbarian books (two of them, I think, labled I & II), that will bring to the game stuff like animal calls, predicting weather, and bartering rules using the Bluff skill.

Hey Herve, tell me about 'the Savage North'. I have been giving it some serious consideration. How might it compare to Ancient Kingdoms Mesopotamia or The Spider Gods bride?
They were both really good with that 'gritty' feel that I like my Sword n' Sorcery to have.
