Adira is friggin' expensive!

Yeah, we erm.. slightly overstocked on those puppies and its taking us a while to trawl through them all... I think we still have 4 or 5 left so we're about 1/2 way through!
I guess the deep pockets of the Lions of the Galaxy just ain't as deep as they once were.

If it was cheaper and a better model then a couple more wouldn't go amiss. We play very big games, I think we managed 20 points of Armageddon one weekend, now you can get a couple of Adira's into that fleet! :D

20 armageddon points? well the adira is your cheapest option then (almost) as apart from just getting 2 octurians its probably cheaper money wise than making an armageddon point worth of ships :D

If you ignore the YIS and go up against Shadows or Vorlons, then suddenly needing several ARmageddon priority ships seams much more likely.

For example you'd need an Adira for each enemy heavy cruiser, and a decent sized vorlon fleet will have three or four of them!

Then there's shadow ships........

you think the adira is expensive, check out forgeworlds Tau Manta for Aeronautica imperialis:

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Bat.htm

this thing is £45 and made from resin not metal and going by the pictures with the flying base is quite a bit smaller than the Adira.

But once please compare the details of this beauty with the Adira.
I think you know on which I outside want….
A difference such as day and night ....

tja tja....Sci-Fi wargaming can be an expensiv hobby....

but i didn´t buy both...this ship or the adira...
so much money, this guys are crazy....

yeah it's a little too expensive for my taste.

I only have an adira because it's a birthday gift, was really pleased with it but i wouldn't have paid for it to be fair.

I didn't get to the assembling part but it sure looks like a pain in the a** :)

You guys are shopping in the wrong place lol...if you check out thewarstore.com, Neal has it listed at less than half the price...here is the link

I'd rather buy another fleet box than a Adira for the extra $40 dollars. It is too big & crappy to buy especially when it's meant to be the centrepiece of your fleet & it will hardly get any use. I've spent a lot of money on models, 4 Complete fleets with my Centauri very large & i just won't buy one or the Liati for that matter.

I picked up the Adira for less. Its a bit of a pain to put together but it looks Centauri enough to fit. But, how often do you do an Amageddon level game where you can use it? Off and on for some of us. Never, for others. The only real bitch was the five minutes that I took trying to make the base and mounting work. After that, I decided that two fighter bases stacked on top of one another fit the bill much better. They are far more stable. As for the Liati, it is a far more useful ship and quite nasty. I need a few more.

I've found this to be true as well. This is how all of my Vorchans are based. Since I use alternate fighter bases, I have a ton of the little hexes lying around.
