Adding in rules from other games?

Mongoose
I am liking this game more and more, but one thing is still bothering me, and that is the wound system.

Right now it is just reducing hit points. You have a minor wound until your HP drops too low. So, if I have 5 HP in an area, and I take 5 hp damage, then it is a minor wound. But if I take another hit that only does 1 hp damage, then suddenly I have a major wound. That has always bothered me.

I have recently read through BRP, and I like the way that it handles wounds. It sets a threshold for a major wound at 1/2 HP. Anything less is a minor wound, and anything above is a major.

Has anyone used a system like that, or something similar with MRQ?

I'm not currently playing any BRP or MRQ game, but I'm used to play with this kind of Major Wounds rules (which originally appeared in StormBringer) and would certainly use these instead of localized Hit points.

Hi,

In Signs & Portents n. 54 on pages 95-96 there is a General Hit Points + Critical Wound system for Mongoose RQ, which reproduces more or less exactly the BRP Major Wound system in MRQ. It is intended for NPCs but nobody prevents you from using it also for player characters.
