Actual mathematical equation to determine distance travel at 1G

Banded Mongoose
Hi All,

Classic Traveller had actual equations to determine time take to travel distances in space at various Gs.

Does anyone know them or where to find them?

Good point. They've been missing from the CRB since the old 1e, by the looks of it. I thought they'd have included them in the Companion, but as far as I can tell, no D there.
I had to go back to a facsimile print of the CT LBBs, and there is where I found the formulae, on p 10 of Book 2.
These formulae may have persisted into later editions (I don't have Megatraveller or Traveller TNE in my files any more, and I never owned GURPS Traveller), but these formulae definitely never made it to Mongoose Trav 1e.

T = travel time; D = distance; A = acceleration, which you could measure in G, or you could unify the SI units of measurement to metres (m) and seconds (s), with 1g = 9.8 ms^-2 (9.80665 ms^-2 to be more precise).

You're not in school. It's okay to use a calculator.

Bear in mind that often you'll want a zero-velocity intercept,

The math gets complex from here, but personally I find that a convenient stopping point for game purposes...

I dug up my copy of TTB - like Sword Worlds, I did not remember buying this book. I suspect I bought both books when they were offered as either freebies, or at a ridiculously low price during a sale.

As noted in the feedback thread, the core book update has them on page 163 in a blue box.
