Acta:SF Drone Question seeking ignore shields yes or no

No Problem at all because everyone uses phasers.

There is actually a argument that can be made for Precise Phaser in that they are one of the few weapon systems in Fed Com that can use targeted damage allocation.

Couple quick questions

Defensive phaser fire vs drones: I have been running games that its a normal roll of 4 and no accurate bonus since small target and doesn't expressly say that you do or don and looked at the accurate more with respect to attacking.

SH,PH arc: If straight lined up front to front does a ship with these arcs with head on facing with another ship get both including front or is it front and one of the 2.

Scout trait use I have been looking at this as an at will and not an announced or preannounced action like special actions wanted to make sure that is correct use that basically the scout ship declares if they are going to jam at any moment during the attk phase as the situation dictates.

Thank You

Accurate Traits are still added in. Phaser 1s kill drones on a 2+ and Phaser 2s or 3s kill drones on a 3+. The Key is it does not expressly say you can not use Weapon Traits in Defensive Fire.

If you are lined up pointing directly at each other you get to use both sets of phaser. For Example a Federation Heavy Cruiser "Centerlines" a D7 it can fire all 6 Phaser 1s (2FH, 2PH, and 2SH) and both Phaser 3s if they are in range. The same is true if the Federation Heavy Cruiser was parallel with the D7 it could still hit it with 6 Phaser 2FH, 2AH and the PH or SH Phaser whichever are pointing at the D7.

For now I am using it as a at will. Once ADB gets through Book 1.2 I am sure they will revisit the Scouts and Escort Rules.

We find it a good idea to let your opponent know you are centre lining his ship (and vice versa) in the move phase - this can save "discussion" later if models get knocked etc. It worked well in previous editions with boresight and is good for Star Fleet.

Same thing in our group.
We always make it a point to announce to the opponent that we are "center-lining" this ship. It takes all of 2 seconds and can save several minutes of debate and discussion later on.

We use yellow arrow tokens to show a ship has activated and moved but if a bore sight is declared, we use a blue arrow (Litko). The tokens are then removed after a ship fires.

QFT.....

Its too easy to bump a table, or ruch up a cloth or any of the so many things that that will move a line that tenth of a degree thats needed over 12" to take you off line. THis is a wargame not a game of dexterity in how well can you line things up. Declarative targetting is the best way to deal with this IMO.
