Well, if taken the new years announcement into account, he isn't that far off the shot.
MGP has not gotten that much friends with it's decisions in the past and it will seriously not make more with that one.

If I remember rightly there news thing at the begining ogf the year did state in so many words they were going to move away from figure manufacture and were joining forces with another company to produce the minis, mainly for SST

I could be wrong, my memory is bad in my old age!!!!

This is quite funny really. People are disgusted at having wasted their money buying minis for a dying game and will be ebaying their entire fleets, but as soon as a 20% discount is mentioned, go all "oooh cheap ships"!!

Just because there are no miniatures doesn't mean the game is dead.

If people want to sell their mini's then let them, I won't stop them, I might even buy a few!

The point is Lord David that they have the metal and there is the demand for the new minis. Any person with a business head will tell you if you have stock you get rid of it. If it ain't moving, it aint earning.

Looking at the minis they do look nice.

Mongoose are not a charity, they are in it to make a living and pay the mortgage.

I don't like it, but I understand - I will buy the miniatures I need at the reduced price. I am not going to give up on the game.

If new ships come along, I'll make a counter for it - Simple!

I just usually lurk here and don't post much. I tell you what though I don't know why they just didn't increase the cost of the mini's and pass the cost on to us. Ya that would suck the big one but at least we wouldn't be all speculating on when or where we might be able to get minatures again for a game we all love to play.

They're canceling the range before fixing the Earth Alliance fleet picture. The Omega in the back is flying the wrong way...so is the explorer, but they go where other ships don't anyway...sorry all, been meaning to mention that for a while...

They have broken it themselves... we´ve been communicated with in a very direct and forthright manner, as have a number of other folks that I´ve spoken with this morning - the cat is well and truly out of the bag and halfway down the street.
We have an email straight from Alex explaining the reasons, etc why but at no point does he say that they´ll be making an "official" announcement themselves, ask us not to discuss it / announce it, etc - he just tells us what they´re doing and why.
I´ve found Alex to be very straight and forthright in my dealings with him, if they´re not producing any more metal you can bet that there is a very sound financial / business type reason at the heart of it.
Knowing and understanding that doesn´t make me any happier about losing 1 of my favourite games though....

I want to thank you for bringing this to the gamers attention.
Even though it was terrible news.
