ACTA RIP....

Oh THANK YOU.
I had just managed to get people playing ACtA here, but this will probably kill our community off.
So this will probably be the end of ACtA not just in miniature, but also in gaming terms. No models, no players, no game.

I wonder if we will ever see SST miniatures or wether they decide we could play that with markers, too...

Can they sell the moulds to another company to produce, is there a license issue there?

Has the license expired and maybe this is the reason its ended, too expensive to renew?

We will never know

Will have to contact Iain at Hobby box and see what he has left

What moulds, MGP have worn them out. I don't think they have the masters, and so you will have to make your own.

Well this blows. I just started and have mediocre Gaim and Drakh fleets with a Centauri box on the way. I just costed out what I want just to finish off *those* and it's over US$400. Not sure I can scrape up that much extra cash between now and 31 March :-(.

Guess I won't be doing Shadows/Vorlons like I had planned. I have to say this pretty much sucks. Victory at Sea worked because there are innumerable WWII minis already out there for people to buy from other manufacturers. B5 has nothing along those lines. If you want to play it, you'll have to scratch build your own. I suppose it could work if the minis were "open source", i.e. we could just mold our own, but due to licensing issues I don't think that would ever happen. Again, this blows.

Cheers, Gary

Any mould making company would produce master moulds then production moulds, its logical sense

If they didn't do this then they are mad!!!

No, because if that was the case they'd no longer be doing the Babylon 5 rpg or the game of ACTA, this is just the models themselves

they bought most of the moulds off Agents of Gaming, so we don't know what they have and haven't got

great it was kicking off in our club, now they just killed it off. :(

and what about the new ships for the victors of the Earth/Centauri war that was played about two and half weeks ago! probabley get the old ships and make new varients out of them. :?

how can you attract new players, its like waving a picture of honey towards a bear, he's not gonna take the bait.

Well, there it is. The death blow for ACtA. I feel like I've been pretty royally shafted. I just bought a new Dilgar fleet, looking forward to many glorious years of B5 gaming and... pow. Heartily doubt I'll be able to get anyone at the Derby gaming club interested in a dead game, so it looks like I might get the odd game with the one bloke down there that plays it and Triggy over in Notts.

To say I feel like I've wasted my money is something of an understatement. Perhaps, with some luck, we'll see some glimmer of hope for more production or another company picking up the license and producing models, but I'm not holding my breath.

I am not amused. Frankly I feel like e-baying the lot and just chucking in the towel. I shan't indulge in foul language but I certainly feel like it...

I fully agree with Galatea

I'm sad and agree

I fell like we've been lied to.

Poi, always with the drama :)

The News page tells you what is happening. I'll be doing a Planet Mongoose post later that will explain _why_.

I understand how you feel, but I will never surrender my glorious Centauri fleet! :P
Seriously though I have bugger all chance of getting any new converts to this game now.

Well even if ACTA does die, the forum whining will continue! Oh yes, you can get rid of us that easily!

Hopefully also how this affects SST. It seemed promising there but with this...Can SST models be economically viable for Mongoose if ACTA wasn't? Or will SST V2 miniature releases be cut off as well?

*starting to be more and more happy interest has turned toward RPG's lately*
