ACTA Noble Armada. My Hawkwood Fleet

The Legend

Mongoose
here's my fleet. Fully painted and ready to roll. I bought these in anticipation of ACTA SF and found NA to be a very entertaining and different game to B5. Loved the miniatures..... Although they do take a bit too much cleaning up for my liking, especially the Osprey and the Hornets.

I will be adding a dreadnought and an Osprey to this fleet as soon as they are painted up. Also on the cards are Sawfly Frigates and some Stealth fighters for the Osprey.

Hope you like them.

Don't play NA but I know nicely-painted ships when I see them. Also, kudos on your pictures turning out nice and clear.

Thanks guys.

I wish there hadn't been as much glare from the lighting in the hall as they look better than the pictures depict. I'm tempted to try and make the next NA tourney with them.

I have high hopes for my Star Fleet miniatures after finishing this little lot. Although I still have an Osprey and Maestekulos to finish off.

:D

Very nice!

Interesting choice of pattern on the Vladimir cruiser.

There's a bit of a story behind it..... I was originally going to paint all my ships in a mid/battleship grey with green detailing, as in House Atreides colours. I realised though that this game is not Dune so decided to paint them in classic Hawkwood colours.

The Vladimir though I wanted to have some link, no matter how tenuous. So I decided to use a Greek style pattern on it. Mainly because I remember from the terrible Legends of Dune books that House Atreides were meant to be linked to the House of Atreus in ancient Greece. So......

But I think it's a nice unique scheme. I'm planning on continuing the Greek theme with my Maestekulos and the Osprey but only in a small nod to the Vladimir.

Holy freakin Batman dood. I've been painting miniatures for the better part of 23 years. Im not the best painter I know and ALWAYS compliment a superior artist when I see his stuff. Your fleet is extremely visually appealing. I love that you gave each ship a unique look. In my bid to get my minis painted over the years I've fallen into the assembly line style of painting. I am just breathless at your paint schemes. CONGRAT's to you sir.

Indeed! That is amazing! I have no idea how you managed that, because those ships are TINY! I can barely get the vague semblance of depth on my Decados ships, and that's nothing compared to your four-tone shading. Wow!

Thanks guys. I really appreciate the good comments. It really helps that the mini's are nicely sculpted. I just got a bit carried away.

:)
