ACTA Dice good bad or just not needed

Not needed. There are so many six sided dice out there already that ACTA ones probably wouldn't do well.

I think PP's Faction Dice disprove that. However, they do include, as I mentioned, a tin that has room for cards, markers and some tokens.

I'm not sure I'd by a blister of just dice, but if it came in a handy tin, I'd be all over it.

Another concern, though, is exactly how many dice do you need? I've found I rarely use more than 12, and the PP Faction dice, IIRC includes 8 or 10.

good question - the few times I played Tank he had a vast box full - quite impressive to watch them all being used and then discarded............... :)

Cannot be having too many dice, dice are infinite, ships are finite, rulebooks are finite (picks up d12)... This, this is wrong dice......

I found some B5 dice in a discount bin somewhere and picked up three sets. I'm guessing they're from an older system, but not sure which one. The "5" on all of them was the B5 logo style, while the colors changed per race and the "6" side had a racial symbol instead of a six. EA, Narn and an unidentified third are what I've found.

If you really want set of dice that are not sold anywhere, why not buy a set of custom dice. Minimum order is 10 dice (eM-4 or Chessex for example). Some symbols or pictures of ships for the dice can be found from B5 wingdings. Personally, B5 dice would be cool. But I think I'm satisfied with my ordinary blue d6 dice so far.

i would certainly go for Acta dice, with the "iconic" ships on the 6's. mab a tin for the majour races, the ancients, and leuge

don't you guys know how to make your dice work better? It's simple:

take one die, and put it in the microwave
line up all your other dice in front of the microwave
set microwave for 30 seconds on low
hit "start" on microwave
now all your dice will see what happens when they fail! :D

also, if you carry a lighter with you, and certain dice are just not doing their job during a game, slightly burn the one thats giving you trouble and set it back in with the rest of your dice...I have a few charred/blackened dice in my 27 dice "brick", and ever since doing that, my rolls have gotten better!

Are you sure you didn't just burn the six side and so it always falls on the heavier (1) side? Meaning you always roll sixes?

Home made loaded dice!!!! Hooray!!!
