My friend and I were playing the pirate campaign and having a good time with it. We had two actions dealing with the pirate station and we came across what seems to be a problem with the rules.
My friend attacked the base with 5 T'Loths and jumped within 8 inches of the base and advanced the next turn and conducted the special action Launch Boarding Parties and Shuttles. I had no problem with his actions but then came the problem of resolving the special action. There seemed to be no way to cause losses against the troops before they arrived on the base. It really makes no sense that I could have fighters in close support of the base and the defence network seems unable to engage either.
My feeling is that close support fighters should be able to intercept 1 troop per fighter and the defence network and the new anti-fighter trait of 2nd edition should be able to intercept some of these troops also.
