I would call that a bay:

Bay Weapons: Weapons may be mounted in bays, large areas near the skin of the ship's hull.

I am in agreement that the link to the launching of a torpedo from the surface ship is probably closer to the bays in Traveller Little Black Books (LBB) or the FFE Classic Traveller collection. For anyone interested here is a document from the USN on the torpedo system shown in the clip:
