OK, for you long time traveller players out there ( I am not one, I got hooked arround TNE and Megatraveller). What the are the uniform colors for these nations:
1) Solomani
2) Zhodani
3) Imperial

Now this includes ground forces and marines, and naval crew. We all know the scouts all wear whatever they happen to find that is clean in the closet.

Only the Imperials have been given that extensive a coverage in any level of "official" print. The two sources for them would be GURPS:Traveller Ground Forces, and an article on the uniforms of the Terran Occupation Force in Traveller's Digest (for MT).

What little color information we have for the Zhodani suggests that they like grey and black uniforms for their space forces. As the designated "Space Soviets" of the setting, this could be extended to assume that grey and black is the uniform of all Consulate military forces, with smaller color cues indicating specific service arms.

The two older "aliens" books that cover the Solomani (I don't count the GURPS effort in this case) may have some uniform cues.

I think it's in MT where each service has its own coloured Imperial Sunburst - I seem to recall that the Imperial Marines' sunburst is maroon. Others may have better memories than a rusty old Hiver...

Are those Solomani Marines? Army? Navy? Home Guard? Party? SolSec?

Anyhow, the combat uniforms of most ground forces would have to give good camouflage, so grey, black, khaki, green and brown would work well, as well as various patterns with these colors. Very high-tech troops would have chameleon camo so the color scheme would change to fit the environment.

Ceremonial/dress uniforms would be more impressive in color in many cases - IIRC the Imperial Marines have maroon (or red?) ceremonial uniforms.

Maroon for Marines is my recollection as well. For some reason Black stands out for the Navy but I can't swear to it.

MT Players Handbook, p27 to be precise. Maroon for the Marines, Black for the Army, Yellow for the Navy and Red for the Scouts. That's just the 'official' sunburst color for the service, but doesn't cover uniform colors.

Only in Swycaffer's fiction have seen mention of official colours of uniforms. I think the whole thing becomes rather doggy, although, players have long asked for a series of pictures for uniforms...the companies that have produced the games have stayed rather mum giving only general direction to their artists.

So, perhaps, I can direct this question to Matt and company have you given Martin the mandate to discuss different clothing options in the Central Supply Catalogue and will each piece in the catalogue be assigned a picture?

Can't comment on art but from the looks of things it doesn't include this. Always subject to change.

Eyethangewe, Deniable! I knew I hadn't dreamt that!

I think that is required by the political officers so they know exactly where to shoot, given their relative lack of intelligence. Of course Solomani crew do insist that the political crew show theirs first so the crew can use them for target practice.
