A question about robots

Hi all.

I just had the character creation session for my new Traveller campaign yesterday and I've come across an interesting little situation that I'd like some help ruling. One of my characters purchased a Servitor robot and the Integral Weapon upgrade to add a hidden laser rifle to its chassis - which is a usage that's noted in the description of Servitors.

Now, ignoring the issues of legality, I'm aware that drones use the operator's Gun Combat skill when attacking and Remote Ops for all other tasks, but with a robot being autonomous I'd suspect they use their own 'skills'. The trouble is, Expert programs are only available for skills based on Education and/or Intellect, which precludes Gun Combat.

Does this mean that her robot will always be rolling with a -3 unskilled penalty when attacking? Or, based on it having an Intellect program, can the robot be fitted with Expert programs for other skills, including those not based off of mental attributes?

Mostly true for humans who do not have hard wiring between the program and their muscles and reflexes.

Sorry, can't go into detail, I need to go.

Robots can have "Expert" programs for physical skills that they use for themselves. Or in a robot Expert Program = Skill program.
