Agreed.
Modern combat will be even more deadly than medievel combat using the existing Legend rules. Guns will do a LOT of damage, not to mention grenades, etc. Automatic weapons can put a lot of rounds into someone in a very short time. Armour is your friend!
No reason a modern combat system couldn't look a bit into the future and include laser weapons etc...
