Hello everybody,

Apologies for being silent for a while, but between Kickstarters and office-wide illnesses, we have been scrambling to catch up with, well, everything. Proper announcements will be made in due course, but I wanted to keep you chaps up to speed.

1. The last of the 'wave 1' SF ships are done, complete, and painted (the last two will be up on the site next week). They will be available as singles and in squadron sets before the end of November.

2. The Gorn Fleet Set will start shipping next week.

3. Just waiting for a precise date on the Star Fleet rulebook PDF, but it is imminent.

4. Fleets of the Fading Suns has just gone off to print, should be in our hands in 10-14 days.

5. The new ships from Fleets are just about all shipping, the Vau and a few Church ships are just waiting for production moulds which will be in operation next week.

Only two?

I was under the impression that, alongside the Small Freighter and Free Trader, the three Tholian ships from the first book (Patrol Corvette, Destroyer, and Heavy Cruiser) were also due to be released.

Or will the Tholians be pushed back to wave 2; to go alongside the likes of the DN and TK5? (Or the Neo-Tholians, whenever they may be ready for production?)

Matt, admit NOTHING

go back to your post and delete it, because at least two of those things were imminent months ago, I appreciate things get delayed, so how about, item X released soon... then announce when it IS already shipping, on website, available for download etc. Will stop us complaining about all the missed deadlines. . .

Well, my Gorn arrived today, all present and correct, with a revised pocket rulebook (Gorn/Kzinti edition - and only fleet stats for them).

Very Happy Lizard, pass me a Tribble 8)

I feel the crocodile tears running down my cold, scaly snout as my own Gorn Fleet has not reached my claws yet. I guess its interstellar karma for getting my Kzinti in early. :(

Nah. It's interstellar karma for missing the last big game at Casa de'Tomas!!!

If you agree to make the next one, the Lizeard Kings will expedite your current order.

You're probably right. I just came back from a long road trip that Friday and couldn't get my scaly tail back in the car again that Saturday. I'm going to be pretty much tied up for the rest of this month, between work and a trip to visit the family up north (brrrrr!) but if you plan anything for early December I'll certainly try to make it. 8)

November is going to be busy for me as well. Other than maybe a pick up game of something simple and quick, looks like first half of Decemebr will be the next regularly scheduled session of ACTASF.

I too have my Gorn fleet box. Very nice clean ships. Combined with the singles I picked up at Mongoose HQ, I could do an entirely agile Gorn fleet at 1000 points. Hmmm.

OK updates are good, but I already have purchased a rulebook (hard cover) and if something changes I don't want to repurchase it every time. Is there a way to get updates for the New Mars BB or other additions/changes without constantly buying a rule book?

I think whats going to happen is there will be an expansion rulebook with all the new stuff and none of the old stuff, so you'd need both rulebooks.

This is correct - new rules will either appear online or in a seperate book.

any idea on when the second book will be coming out with the new ships and new rules? And can anyone give me a general idea of what the difference is between the F5 and F5W (both in terms of stats, and the models look the same to me...), and what the E5 Battle Corvette is likely going to be like (stats, points)? Please :)

Looking at the Federation Commanders Circle, and under ship cards for the Klingons, I gleaned this for the difference between the Klingon F5 and F5W:

All phaser-2 are improved to Phaser-1.
Add 2 Phaser 3
Add another drone rack (total =2)
Disruptor arcs are seriously improved (FH + L and FH + R)
Shields may be somewhat improved.

But yes, the miniatures do look very similar. I am not sure if I will buy any or not. I'd have to see a side-by-side picture so I can decide for myself.

For sure, the F5W will do nicely filling in the glaring hole in the present Klingon fleet between the F5 (@100 pts) and the D6 (@150 pts).

The E5 looks like an E4, but with the 2 front phasers improved to P-1, better disruptor arcs, add 2 phaser-3. Add an drone rack. Looks like about the same hull, so damage may not change much.

The F6 looks basically like an F5W, without the Phaser-3s...but add 2 disruptors.

Where is the F6? Thanks for the response billco, not sure how much of an improvement the F5W will be from the sound of it.
