2nd Edition......

........ HURRY UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Am I the only one that is dying for this game to be released?

If so, then  but I'm dyng to have the full game. YOu see, at the moment, I have the revised box set and Arm. Never got SFoS due to this piece of text on the website for SFos:

BOX SET OWNERS: If you own the original A Call to Arms box set (as opposed to the new Revised Edition), all you need to fully update to the new rules set is this book - you do NOT need the Revised box set as well.

I understood that meaning that if you had the Revised edition you didn't need SFoS, what with the Revised edition being the 'Revised' edition.

Now I know better and it bites to know there are more rules out there that I'm missing. I could go and get SFoS but I can't really justify buying it due to the impending release of 2nd Edition. It will just be wasting money

SO, what I am getting at is, just for me, release 2nd edition sooner. For the love of my sanity, please!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't thin I can handle another few of months.

I know what you are saying super squirel, and agree with you 25%, the other 75% is determined that MGP take as long as the need to and get the book right before release.

Personally I would rather that they delay the book by a month or 2 if they feel that its not right; than rush it to get it to market to meet an artififcal deadline they set months in advance.

That said if the end of may rolls round and they think its a finely honed peice of gaming mastery (that can't be improved easily or quickly) then they should of course work to get it out ASAP!!!! 8)

seeing as they are taking there time making sure its playable and as good as they can get it at this stage, will they have time to proof read it, and change the typos that can usually be found?

What they are planning to proof read it and correct all the typo's.... will we even recognise it as a MGP product........... 8)

I wouldn't mind it being delayed if it was long enough that I could then justify getting SFoS. I'd be happy either way.

I'm just hoping that the text checkers pick up the little retexting errors that have been present in all the prior books. I'd wait an extra month or three if they comb through it or handed it over to someone who'd catch the mistakes of "This is what the book SAYS which isn't what you MEAN" (3s instead of 30s, Battle Lasers instead of Accelerators, etc).

August time is the original estimate IIRC, however any time in the second half of this year is possible.

Thanks, Triggy. Let's stay positive, right? :D

Personally, anytime before november is good for me, as long as it is complete and correct.

But still, HURRY!!!!

Heh, I don't even own the rules yet. I'm still up in the air about getting a boxed Narn fleet and the Starter Set or the full rules boxed set.

I hope they will get out this damn rules really fast.
If they don't get them out in August when will they do them then?
Chrismas? Next Year? Ever?

I am fairly certain we will see them this year.... and would be extremely suprised if we don't get them before Xmas.

Naaah too many crappy pre-paints to do first... be a year or two tops

I hope this isn't true, but knowing Mongoose some how I feel it may be the case

Edit;

Wish Mongoose didn't spread themselves too thin in terms of what they can support. Get your already existing games sorted out before adding more... Battlefield:Evolution rant

Take a look at the upcoming releases. It is there in August. http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/scheduled.php

The Drakh fleet book and Sfos both made it to the up and coming pages but didn't come close to their original release date why should thisbe any different?

well thats the orginal idea for release. the rules will definately be ready, wether the fleets are by then we will have to wait and see.

how hard can it be to find the mistakes, when i first opened SFoS i was finding all the typos, if i can find them as soon as i pick up the book why can't they just find the obvious ones which would be found if they were read. i realise that there will be some mistakes, but most of them are so obvious if you just read whats been printed.

is august when it will be released by mongoose or when we should see it appearing in shops, so we will actually be able to order it sooner?

Depends on where you live, really - in my experience, at least with miniatures, it can take up to one month until a new release actually becomes available.

One of the gaming stores that I buy from is taking pre-orders for the new book. I am very anxious to get the new rules and a book that has all the rules in one publication. All the time having to flip through several books to get clarification on a subject.
