<snip>Minbari had lost their previous c&c center which made organising war effort pretty tough.

Well, that wa just pretty careless of them, should have put it somewhere safe.

It must have been going pretty bad for them if they didn't have a back up, or the ability to retro fit somethign existing for the job rather than go and nick B4

Well army of light nearly lost THEIR C&C in the episode Z'Ha'Dum :D

Well shadows are rather nasty foe so it's not that unbelievable that others were gone too. And maybe they might have been able to retrofit but would they have been able to do that in time? Probably isn't that easy thing to do(especially if shadows have been blowing out number of their stations before as well). Then comes B4 and provides instant replacement.

Plus the fact Vorlons seemed to approve B4 probably gave good reason for Minbari's to accept B4 in a second :D

And the minbari clearly learnt from that episode, as we see that Sharlins now have C&C abilities on them, so they can operate more independantly of a base.
now then, did babylon 4 die? was it abandoned in the end, blown up, why did the minbari not look at it's computer systems and go look at earth back then? no doubt mention was made of the earth minbari war in the stations data logs, they could have prevented it happening, but then babylon 4 might not have been made, meaning it didn't go back in time, meaning they wouldn't have known about the war...aaarrggghhhhhh my ears are bleeding!

Sinclair wiped the station's logs (using Vorlon toilet paper) before arriving in the past. Dunno what happened to it after the war though, and why there were no pictures surviving!

I guess the EA will never get any compensation, nor the Minbari get any sentence for handling stolen goods, not to mention the Vorlons fencing the thing in the first place ;-)

ROFLOL

All I can imagine is the Vorlons who where there with Valen when B4 turned up where actually a pair of cleaners... Maybe thats what they hide under their encounter suits... a Dyson and some floor polish...

I thought you meant "cleaners" like Mr. Wolf.

And Valen very likely cleared the memory databanks of any mention of humans :D The Earth-Minbari war had to happen so that would seem to be as prudent safe measurement...

also its noting that the way I took it was that the Station that B4 replaces was basically their forward supply base from which they kept their fleet running, if it was lost for C&C then its entirely possible a field outpost for those purposes could be set up quickly but they needed a base of operations from which to resuply their ships, treat casualties, rearm, repair etc. And it had to be near the 'front lines' or by the time their fleets got back from rearming the shadows would be elsewhere.

In one of my books it says "The Minbari and the Vorlons upgraded Babylon 4's weapons and defences then the Shadows turned up and started to attack, they were driven off and B4 moved location.

I can just imagine B4 being towed by half a dozen Minbari ships, with Valen sitting on the top of B4 cracking a whip 8)

Thankfully there was no need :D B4 had something B5 didn't. Engines designed to move station in spae

in it's fluff. B4 was much more heavily armed, and had engines, although i don't think it had a jump engine, but it would have been able to maneuvre through another ships jump point

JMS also said the AoG books were all right but plenty of people here argue any time anyone says 'it was x,y or z in B5Wars' :P

Im not saying it didnt have engines anyway, I was just wondering where that info comes from!

From this question to JMS:

Did B4 have more firepower than B5?
Yeah, B4 had more firepower, and it had one thing B5 doesn't...engines that can move it forward if necessary.

Not really that sure how USEFULL that ability is though...You need one heck of a big jump gate to get that into hyperspace and non-hyperspace where the heck you are going sub-light speed that would be usefull anyway?

Well maybe Minbari's/Vorlons are able to create huge jump points :D[/i]

A Vorlon Planetkiller is at least the same size as a babylon station isn't it? But Yeah, anything less is probably not enough.

An Explorer ship is about the size of B5, and that can fit through a jump gate. Admittedly B4 is a bit bigger, but not all that much surely?
