2E release date

looks like its going to have to be a christmas present now. :x

i have over two months off because i have just taken my GCSEs, and guess what; 2e comes out a week before i go back (so long as it doesnt slip anymore), so if i order the two books they will turn up a few days before i have to go back to school. Might as well just wait till christmas.
And 2e's release was going to be the highlight of my holidays. Great, i thought, i'll finish school, a few weeks into July it will be released and i'll have over a month of happiness with my new books. Then i find out its late august, oh well i think, at least i'll have a few weeks before i go back, now it looks as though it will be a few days at best!

Why do Mongoose even bother giving us a date because they always seem to have to delay it?

Moaning over ...for now ...

Since I didn't see another 2e thread, I figured I'll post it here, what will happen to the Armageddon Supplement when 2e is released? Will it still be required? Or will all those additions be brought into the 2e fleet book?

just noticed it has been pushed back a week to the 27th.

It is worth saying that this date is the start of the week when we can get it to US stores. If you are in Europe, you will likely see it sooner. If you are in the UK, you certainly will. Those who have had it on pre-order from us for a while will see it sooner still.

If I pre-order it tothe US what do you think the ETA would be?
I'd really like to make sure I get it before Conquest SF so I can Demo it there...

schtop schtop, this book isn't ready yet.. where is it's proofreading? it's carefully balanced ships and non frustrating mechanics? ...

All this time we've been saying (at least collectively, if not individually) take your time, do it right, let's get a really good product out there. Now let's show that we stand by our word and wait, patiently if needs be, for the finished product we're hoping for.

At least, in the votes so far, we've seen us talk the talk about taking time to get it right. Now, let's walk the walk, fellow forum posters. I will wait whatever timeframe necessary -- up to, say, another year -- to get it spot on.

The only person who gets full rights to ask for something is Hiffano and his redesigned Mothership. The rest of us don't know waiting like he does.

Don't forget tenacious D's long, well noted campaign for new Dilgar stuff as well.

Surely if a release date is announced, the product released on that day should be complete? Proof read, typo free and play tested? It shouldn't be a case of the customer sdaying take your time get it right (please get it right and please no typos). Mongoose gave the release date, what is released should be as close to perfect as they can get it surely?

but then no-one is perfect, and in this day and age, more and more companies release incomplete products, just look at PC games, half of them ave patches on release day, books get errata downloads, cars get recalls to replace the fatal brake problem (eep!) It's a sad fact that these days the consumer is so demanding on release dates, that organisations do rush products out. Sure they may give a release date, that is to shut people whining that they don't have enough info. We, the public, cause these problems ourselves in this modern must have info age.

Release dates are estimates when alls said and done. Ok so in some cases those estimates are somewhat inacurate (talk to Hiff ;)) but you cant go throwing a hissy fit if they push it back a bit.

Personally I think Mongooses one big problem as a company is that for a (relatively) small company theyre trying to do an awful lot at once and, unsurprsingly this results in delays.
