I was trying to fit a Monolith in the flight patch...

Simple, and sneaky clever way to do that ;)

...use the monolith AS the flight patch base rather than a circle. Basically a rectangle (4:9 ratio) main field with a top bar (1 ratio), maybe as a name tag area. Or get creative and 3D it a bit :)

Do you remember the ship design (in an old 'White Dwarf') that was used in the 'Snowbird Mystery' (I think the ship was in #41 or #40)? I like the similar handling of the fuel tanks that you have.

Certainly do ! Makes them more interesting, same with the cargo bay, add some cases, hauling gear? and some other gubbins...

Remember I rebuilt the Hunter as the Huntress from White Dwarf....
I think that ship's floor plan from 'White Dwarf' was the best I have ever seen (I like yours though, and yours work in 3D too).

A VERY nice deck-plan indeed! Better than mine!

If you could create a detailed tutorial about doing this in SketchUp, a lot of people will be grateful! (and future Outer Veil books will look better!).

By the way, does SketchUp allow you to generate a 3D model of the ship from these deckplans? Having deckplans coupled with an actual 3D model of the ship would be awesome!

Thanks, yeah I need to finish that off..

You can use sketchup to build a model. From the plans... in fact thats what I do. Either use the map as a guide or actually do stuff with the map to make the model... I 'lathe' some sections... I think a diagram is in order.
