But first: Congratulations and well done on French Arm Adventures. Looks superb and (importantly) well thought-out.
I am considering a Chthonian Stars mashup with 2300AD. Our small group has been fairly canonista, mostly as a metric to ensure multiple interested people can GM from core source material and, also, that we do not stray overfar from the recognizable Universe (from which future play aids will [yes? yes?] proceed). That said, I am looking for a sector that could conceivably be home to my HPL mashup.
I could place it in trans-Pentapod Space. I think that would be fairly safe from retcon... and it kind of makes sense that the Pentapods might grok the worst of the Old Ones. Be slightly crazy from it.
But I lean to 61 Cygni sector. It is easily reachable by Trilon tugship out of Core, a natural “next place” for colonization, and close enough to Core that the Horrible Lessons learned there become more Cosmic by their immediacy. The Horror That Cannot Be Named Is Seeping Our Way, and all that. Additionally, the tugship lock Trilon would have over this sector would yield continued adventure there a fairly Evil Corporate Alien/Prometheus feel. And I envision a last Horrible Confrontation on the lonely, oh, so lonely Trilon Deep Space IV station that Ends All This. For now.
I guess my question is, and this is pretty much a Colin question, Is there anything planned in your mind for 61 Cygnus sector that would make HPL monkeyshines there inadvisable? Space is Big; and I am amenable to moving my plans out of The Way.
