1st Edition Vorlon Fleet box

Does anyone know what version of the Vorlon Destroyers (wings out or wings folded) came in the 1st Edition Vorlon Fleet Box? I ask because I have an opportunity to get one of the fleet boxes and I'd like to know which ones I'm getting.

Also, the picture of the new Vorlon Fleet box shows 8 flights of fighters but the description states 4 flights. Which is correct?

folded. In the old box folded was destroyers, open was tranports before they got resised

OK, so that means in 2nd Edition terms, there are six Destroyers in the old fleet box and no transports then.

EDIT: although, most folks don't seem to care if you use the old style transports.

That's not a problem for me, I already picked up a blister of Vorlon Fighters and the smaller Vorlon Transports. I intend to use the bigger ones as Destroyers so I'll have six of them and don't need to get more. I was just trying to figure what smaller ships I'd need to pick up to bolster my forces. Now I know!

Yes mate you got it all correct already, I got the 1st ed vorlon fleet box, used the large transport models as variant destroyers. You should get 36 individual fighter models, which allows you to make 6 flights I believe. Most of the old 1st ed fleet boxes gave you enough of the primary fighters of each race to make 6 flights, with some exceptions.

All round I think you'll find the 2ed fleet box contents more usefull, but you get more savings by getting the old 1st ed fleet box. I think.

I've run the numbers and the old Vorlon Fleet box plus 8 of the new smaller transports is a better deal price wise than the new Vorlon Fleet box plus 2 Heavy Cruisers, 2 Destroyers, and 4 flights of fighters. You wind up with 2 more flights of fighters with the new fleet box and extras, but there is a difference of almost $40 in price at current prices to get near total parity. It's definitely better to get the old fleet box and extras. If you can find them, get the old fleet box while you can!
