Here is my first Skinnie army with the models I have or are on their way.

7 Skinnie Soldiers, Champion has Skilled Warrior, 2 Constrictor Cannons, 2 Neural Beamers. Total 400pts.

Very small and elite, looking forward to using it against Arachnids in the near future.

Nasty looking force, but might be a bit inflexable... Time will tell, but certainly a solid start. Down the road you could add in a unit of raiders, and a (heavy) speeder nad it will just get better and better :)

Thanks for the feedback,

I'm basing this small Skinnies force on the models out of the Skinnies range that I like... which are only the Tyrant and Soliders. Looks like I'm going to end up having an inflexable army! Oh well, as I expand it I may swap Orbital Support for the trait that allows a unit to use the Ambush special rule (Can't recall it's name right now).

T'Phai is a lovely model, and quite easy to remove the Morita and replace with a Constrictor Rifle.

I think you are being a little 'hard' on the Skinnie range tbh.

The Militia are really nicely sculpted, and the Raiders (which are cheap and cheerful) really do the job.

The Speeders are top banana, I know 40k Eldar Players who have bought them to have Metal speeder bikes in their Eldar Armies!

After a quick look in Forbiden Planet I saw 4 Skinnie Solider box sets priced at £4.99 each. I bought all 4 :P

I'll be painting all my skinnies after The Download festival.

I'm not being harsh on them, it's just the rest of the range just dosen't appeal to me. I like the ideas behide them, but the sculpts aren't to my taste.

Fair question, a lot of it boils down to a lot of the models (dare I say it) too skinny in the Torso area for a skinnie. Before people bang on about how they are the Skinnies, (yes, I know their called Skinnies for a reason) I'd just say hear me out.

The Skinnie Tyrant has a waist that is still skinnie while wearing armour, but within the level of what is believable. Now look at the Skinnie Venerables, they are meant to be wearing heavier armour, the models have smaller Torso than the Tyrant. Suspension of Disbelief is fine and all, but that's really pushing the limit.

The Skinnie Venerables do have the of the nicest sculpted Skinnie heads with in the range, which is a shame. I really like the ideas about these guys and would happily have them in my force.

Raiders have faces that are just horrid and look nothing like a Skinnie.

Skinnie Elite Guard and General have helmets that I just can't take seriously, they look like something I'd see in a Poke Môn cartoon.
Skinnie Guard again suffer from too Skinnie Torso's.

The Soldiers have cracked this issue in the way in their weapons and arms are sculpted so close to their torsos.

The Heavy and normal Speeders I'd have to see in the 'flesh' before I pass final judgement, looking at the pictures again they don't seem too bad. I'm more in favour of the Speeders as to the Heavy Speeder; I just prefer the way the nose is angled.

Hope this Helps.

Edited as by spelling is awful at this time in the morning/night.

All fair points, just wondered Lol!

The Speeders have a little flexibility in the positioning of the 'wings'.

The Raiders faces look fine when painted and the visors are on (or you could just paint the visors gold).

BTW - You have to remember that Skinnies have mastered the skills of producing Tin Foil Armour ;)

Tinfoil armour does have an advantage in that it stops the government from stealing your thoughts, but has no pracitcal battlefield effect, LOL.

I agree with the L.T about visoring up the raiders. If the faces are the only problem you have with them than you are sorted.
