Wondering if this happened to anyone else.. the lamination on my Fire on the Water is shriveling up and falling off. Also wondering if anyone has a newer version of book 2 with the different binding from books 3+.. not even sure if Mongoose went back and updated the binding on the first two books.

Couldn't agree more! Jungle of Horrors was my first LW book. I was 7, and I read it so many times the book nearly fell apart. The fact that it didn't is nothing short of amazing. Now, I'm 30 and I still have all my old LW books.. some of my most cherished possessions. Now all I need is all that...

Cool! I should point out that I haven't read the book in more than 10 years.. and my only copy sits at my parents' house across the country. I'm anxiously awaiting the new version!

Speaking of the sommersword, minor spoiler here concerning castle death... I lost all my equipment and never got it back. Imagine how upset I was to lose the sommersword. My question.. is there a way to not lose everything when you escape the castle? I haven't found a way yet.

What is the benefit of preordering? I'm not criticizing or being judgmental, just genuinely curious. I've preordered the first two books as soon as possible, and in each case, tons of customers who ordered once the book had already released received theirs first. So what's the point? Just to...

I really liked the new intro, but honestly, it could have been anything and I still would have liked it. I can't put into words what it felt like to read this book. 13 years since the last time I read a lone wolf book, and it was still pure magic.

I must have generated some good karma at some point... the book finally arrived today. Now let the waiting begin for book 2... :roll:

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if I get the second book first.

I am rather excited as well, although I'm disappointed because I was about to start campaigning with the old system... now I feel like learning the old core rules would be a waste... oh well!

Here's a question for U.S. customers: How many days did it take for the USPS to get your book to you? Mongoose told me mine would leave the U.S. warehouse last Thursday... still no book though...
