While its a challenge, I've had no lack of victories over the Vree with Centauri. I come at them with the mix of Kutai and Demos, and maybe some Eulatarian if I'm *really* worried about matching range. And a Balvarin. If the guy loves Tzymm, I bring some Maximi or even a 2nd Balvarin Properly...

My LGS got my order yesterday, everything from Blue Stars to pak'ma'ra... Should I feel morally wrong about dropping $800 from overtime pay in one go? :shock:

I was weak last night...it's not enough that the local LGS has something like 6 fleets on order for me. (What? I'm making a lot of overtime lately... :-)) I also felt that just 1 mere box of Drazi with extra Sunhawks wasn't enough, so I ordered another Fleet Box and 16 stands of Sky Serpents...

Amen, Triggy! Wargames represent WAR...crap happens, and the good general has planned ways to deal with it, or even simply doesn't give up. If you want Chess, then play Chess.

On. The. Nose. That's why, while I can intellectually appreciate the proposals, they don't "feel right" ... I think fleets were balanced with that high damage potential in mind, and thus this idea would lead us into yet another round of revising massive amounts of ships or fleet lists.

I prefer that element of randomness and surprise actually...lends the game to be more like a real battle over an exercise in Odds manipulation. Fluff wise, I see the 2 dice become 17 hits rolls being solid lock ons, and the tracing the beam down the target. The 2 dice = 4 hits is a decent...

I've got a lot of little things across the board that could be tweaked - please Mongoose don't discard the idea of doing some fine tuning as well as an improved Multi-System Campaign and a new race or two. So here's My List: 1 -- GAIM - Mix up their emines and gatling lasers amongst the ships...

Next chance you get, PM Matt if the stem contact rule intentionally means only 3 or 4 flights get into contact, or there's some other stacking method intended for getting more ships in. :D

Thanks Burger and Diesel for the tips! I'd be in the plunge for some, but I think at $10 a pop with the QC check being make or break for them, I'll just settle for Sleekbirds instead. Plus, I have pak'ma'ra, Brakiri, and ISA to buy as well, so these don't make the cut. :-)

This could be a regional perspective, but our Narn player(s) have had poor luck with the G'Karith. They can't seem to hurt much with the emines, and nobody will have out fighters anyways, knowing they're fighting Narn. Now maybe they'd pan out late game well, and given better luck - I see it on...

I don't have Narn, but I've discussed a lot with two other Narn players: -- 2+ Dag'Kar is a given -- I quite like the Ka'Toc, so at least 4 there is a good choice. -- Thentus are nasty, and can board. Get 2-4 if you can stand the look. -- Given all the straight attack dice Narn have, and that...
