I did think about that (spray and pray) but then figured that if this is at the end of a grapple and you haven't taken the option to disengage or throw then you're pretty much on top of the guy and probably have the pointy end held against his body

Low grade alternative might be to sell say 10% of the PDF for £5.
It would be nice if there were an upgrade path from PDF to physical book that weren't a 100% cost rebuy.
For "marginal" books I am quite happy to speculate £22 on a PDF to see if the content is what I want, but if it is I don't really then want to spend another £40 buying the hardback.
IMTU it is common for single-sophont Scout/Couriers in the Marches to have a robot engineer. If the same scout and robot engineer serve together for several terms, it is possible for the scout to be granted the robot as a mustering out benefit. They are expected to keep it in good condition...
Pay for from credit, or pay for from tonnage, or both? I think the deck plans are a bit of a red herring, because they are something of an artist's impression!
