Sounds like you all had differing expectations and understandings of what the campaign would be. I don't know that I would consider the players "wrong" but I would want to make sure that everyone is on the same page prior to the campaign start and this may also need to be refreshed during it.

I'm thinking of running Ars Magica in Hawkmoon's Europe wiht an emphasis on the new sorceror scientists driving out and dominating the old school wizards. I think I need to reread Hawkmoon/Castle Brass first, but it should be fun. Any of you ever played Ars Magica? What woul the Stonehenge...

I thought you left. :twisted: I always find it funny that people think rolemaster is more complex than d20. It takes a bit more effort to design a character, but the system is easy. D20 core mechanic for skills and attacks is pretty easy but some people have trouble with the feats and...

And me... The "G" in "RPG" stands for "game." Mechanics matter and simple mechanics leave me yawning. I love the roleplaying, but the roll-playing is fun too. Combos, synergy, specialization, all leading to the throw of the dice or the GM deeming that none is necessary, are all impoprtant...

SW is ok too, though I find it to be a dumbed-down version of rhe old Deadlands game I loved. Your analysis is faulty in that you continue to make this some sort of math problem. X pages of this v Y pages of that.... Conan shares the core mechanic with d20, but has all of the advantages...

You can "sincerely wonder" all you want. Saying that only the classes are different from d20 to Conan makes me wonder if you have played Conan. I've played plenty of d20. People who complain that d20 is too complex have their own issues. My issues with d20 are the silly memorization of...

Conan OGL fixes pretty much everything bad in d20. I like it just fine and the non-gaming parts of the book are ace. That said, if Mongoose decides to release Conan in a new ruleset rather than giving us 3.0 to buy, I'll support it, buying the new system, but I'll play whichever I like or...

I found no woman-hating in the HC series. Aldara and Mara and others were important characters and interesting to boot.

I guess the horseclans future is that much more outrageous than the aftermath of the Tragic Millenium? :lol:

Get the deal made to publish the game and also republish the novels in compilation form with 6 novels per edition for all 18. AWESOME books and would fit will with the genres already leased by Mongoose.
