    Ship design. Size of units

I know the military is into miniaturization, but 10 inches wide for an armored vehicle with 4 inch wide doors seems a tad on the small side. :) Going by a picture of the rear of a LAV-25 and it's known width, each of the two rear doors measures roughly 1.12m tall by .75m wide. The Stryker on...

    Near Earth Traveller style starmap

You could use EDG's material from his website, it is much better than that of 2400 AD: I'd imagine the stars won't change a whole lot between now and then. :P http://www.evildrganymede.net/rpg/world/mapping.htm#Section3

    Noob Question

Some of the Swiss Cantons have nearly universal levels of gun ownership in the home due to military weapons held by reservists, but homicide of any kind is almost unheard of. On the other hand, in the US there are more people killed per capita with handy blunt objects than the entire homicide...

Life Support Costs for Barracks and Small Cabins

As a Captain, I'd probably do it for the outbound leg out of the gravity well. As far as jumping to another system, that seems easy to abuse. Any of the other captains working with/for a pirate could send a laser signal out of the gravity well to a messenger ship which jumps to the destination...

Just played my first game of VAS...

"My friend and I were playing that the smoke counter enveloped the center point and trailed behind the ship via the counter" "It might just be me, but the Smoke SA seems way too powerful." "but are going to try using the rule that if LOS passes through the front 180 degrees of a Smoked ship in...

    Civ ships in OOB

Each "ship" is a point, just like in VaS. The only thing that changed was what they were called.

    Civ ships in OOB

The "ships" in question are those listed in the scenario. See the "Fleets" section of the Convoy scenario in VaS. They don't replace points worth of warships, they are separate. Essentially they are target points. :)

    Sumner and Gearing Class DD's

I'd think that the problem at extreme range is that both Iowa and Yamato are a LOT of ship to kill. Given the low hit probabilities for maneuvering targets at that range, you'd probably run out of ammo before sinking the enemy. Of course for the US, sinking would be nice but hardly necessary...

    General Questions

"This will allow players to use a SINGLE Fleet Allocation Point to buy ships of different levels rather than of one Priority Level only." Emphasis mine, but that's a direct quote from the rules. Your denial doesn't change what they state.

    General Questions

It states that players are allowed to use a SINGLE point to buy ships of different levels.

    Sumner and Gearing Class DD's

If Iowa is opening the range, Yamato can probably move so that she's bow on to Iowa's stern. 6 guns to 3 isn't a winning scenario for Iowa; even with radar.

    Sumner and Gearing Class DD's

I ran one last night. The Iowa's speed is bigger factor than I realized. At flank speed she qualifies for the -1 to hit for a fast target. Broadside to broadside at Extreme range, Iowa needs a 4 +1 range (radar), -1 beam = 4. Yamato needs 4 + 2 range, -1 beam, +1 flank = 6 to hit. A 125%...

    Sumner and Gearing Class DD's

A lot would have to depend on what gaming system you use to play it out. In VaS I'd say it was very close. The 18" guns are measurably better, but the US gets Radar. Iowa is faster and gets more choices of engagement range. Mostly, enough dice will get thrown around that luck won't play too...

    Graf Zeppelin Class In OOB

Casablanca class. You buy 3 Hellcats for a Skirmish point and get a free escort carrier and 2 Avengers to go with it. That's one hell of a manufacturer's rebate! It should probably be a Raid level pick.

Excellent news. I haven't heard anything via PM so I'll shoot them an email.
