I'd like to second this post: Is there an errata for P and P? As i am thumbing back through, it looks like 2 levels difference should read 3 ships, and not 4 (?).
Thanks!
P.S. My apologies for the late response. I have been beyond the Rim for several years.
The Star Trek background has been written -- and rewritten several times. Between the different series of novels, SFU and FASA, etc, you can definitely find an alternate universe that works for you.
I am glad you are checking out SFU: Steve Cole has one of the most internally consistent...
Having played a lot of all three games systems, I disagree. If they were meaningless, we would see many more points issues than we currently see. I believe it was Scoutdad who compared the other SFU games to SFACTA like this: "...it is amazing how similar the outcomes are." That strongly...
Given an informal analysis of a huge data set, or a rigorous analysis of anecdotal evidence, which should we prefer?
The relative pointing used in the official material is largely a direct import from FedCom/SFB, where the ships have been tested against each other for years. While informal...
While waiting for your minis, pop over to the The Star Fleet Store and grab a copy of Mega Hex.
This product gives you more than enough counters to start playing the game right away.

Interesting: I would've thought the paraffin wouldn't take primer very well? What primer do you use please? Is there any special paint prep needed for the paraffin?
Our biggest delay point has been tracking crits...
An App that did that would be worth a fair amount to me. Maybe packaged with the rules pdf? If that is do-able...
Read Spence's post before my first game, and have one criticism. He was far too subtle on that whole "not SFB/Fedcom" thing! :)
SFB and FedCom are great, but unlearn them before playing SF ACTA.
