    Old Traveller Scenario...

Good folks of the forum. I'm trying to remember the details of an old scenario I played in many moons ago. The gist of it was this: Collect very valuable shellfish from a red zone planet. There was a blockade enforced around the planet that posed problems getting in and out, and a giant...

    Cost of Mongoose PDFs

Love Traveller, would love to get the PDFs... But. Traveller core rulebook, £18.99 at www.iguk.co.uk Traveller Pocket rulebook, £9.49, same site. Traveller core PDF, £18.62 So why do I buy the PDF? Where's the saving for not having dead tree? Can't really justify a saving of 37p as a good...

    Pocket Player's Guide

So... We're getting the Traveller core rules in a book that's almost as big as the original black books. Are there any plans to re-issue all of the other supplements - Merc, High Guard, etc. in the pocket form?

    Mongoose and 4ED

There's an edition after Second Edition? Geez, you drop out of AD&D for a few years...

    Release schedule query

It's interesting that PDFs sell so poorly compared to their dead-tree counterparts. For me (as an IT professional with an unhealthy RPG collection) pdfs outnumber actual books by about 20 to 1. But... when I actually want to play a game I'll either purchase a real book if it's available or...

    Dragon Warriors

I remember these from some of my earliest non-Fighting Fantasy gaming. Took ages to track down a complete set and I don't know what happened to it. Any chance of some previews? A section on the website devoted to it? Somthing other than a couple of pics in this month's releases to let us...

    Tales from the Floating Vagabond

Seconded! I've gone through 3 copies of that game since I first bought one. Read and played them to death. Thankfully I've now got PDFs safe and sound. But I'd definitely buy a new one.

    More original universes

And, as such, will probably never see another supplement - printed or otherwise. Which is a damn shame as I grew up with 2 of the TTA hardbacks on my shelves. Damn things were excellent as gaming resources. Still love that Chris Foss artwork!

So when do we get the PDFs?

Or, to put it another way, when do we get the PDFs? It's either a PDF or I have to move house to somewhere with more bookshelves. Or I start eBaying old stuff. Stuff with sentimental value. So c'mon, save the memorabilia and release a PDF of this bad boy!

    Pounds to dollars (and vice-versa)

An anomaly. I hope. RuneQuest Deluxe: $39.95 or £20 Fair enough. 2:1 exchange rate. Not bad. RuneQuest Spellbook: $29.95 or £20. Hmmm. RuneQuest Slaine: $34.95 or £25. OK, so where's the logic gone? By the logic of the current exchange rates, Deluxe is correct and the other 2 are...

    SpaceQuest. Still go for launch?

There's room in this universe for both systems to co-exist. OK, so SpaceQuest won't exactly be an official Mongoose publication but if it's done well enough I could see the changes you need to make to MRQ being detailed in Signs & Portents. I'm thrilled to see Traveller making a comeback but...

    Heroes

Just reading the design journals over at Green Ronin, the publishers of Mutants and Masterminds. Seems that their new "Paragons" setting is pretty much Heroes with the serial numbers filed off. Doesn't stop it sounding fun, though...

    Al Qadim / Arabian Nights

Well, if Mongoose isn't doing this, I'll find the time somehow! I was digging through my old TSR stuff over the weekend and then lost the whole of Sunday just reading through the Al Qadim stuff. Going to have to pull some players together and try this with the MRQ rules... For those who don't...

    Congratulations on Traveller!

You beauties! I'm sure I'm not alone in expressing regret at the effect this will have on our collective bank balances. Love the idea that the Mongoose rules are a subset of the full-blown T5 (as and when it eventually hits the CD-ROM) and I've already got funds aside for that - have had since...

    Printer-friendly PDFs

Yep - tried that, but it leaves the backgrounds there, and they're still quite a drain. However, after some experimentation... pdftohtml -c -i strips out all the images - background and in-line - but preserves the formatting of the text. Now if only I could get it to preserve the in-line art.
