    sneak attack...

Interesting read, not sure why anyone is bothered. So the thief may be considered ovcerpowered in an ambush/surprise situation, but from what I have seen, the game seeks players to multiclass.

    Stupid combat question

I usually use the highest roll under skill (like Pendragon system) and it works well. If you start having uber charatcers with skills over 100, perhaps Rurik's method is better.

    RuneQuest... what setting?

That would be awesome, Cornwell latest stuff is fantastic. His Arthur trilogy was top notch. I quite liked the Harlequin (Grail Quest) the best. I have also read his new saxon stories, and these are preffy good as well.

    RuneQuest... what setting?

With companies now seliing on licenses left and right, why can there not be MCoC or CoC 6 (I think that's where we would be at). There is a D20 CoC also (not sure if that is included. The question is Can mongoose support so many differnet worlds effectively or are they in a bubble that could...

    RuneQuest... what setting?

Most of the historical GURPS books are pretty good, and the beauty of RQ is that it is easy to fit in any game world. Also the old Ars Magica books offer some good medievil backgrounds, and despite the Magica side of it have pretty good story lines that have no need for magic. Personally I...

    Legendary Abilities

The "different from the masses" argument is not really appropriate with RQ. The points spare after the culture and profession are to personalise the character too individual wants. If you want them to be tougher, just give them more points at the start. Simple really. D&D and D20 are good for...

    Single Rolls vs Double Rolls

I had the big game day, and used the 2 rolls. With powerful characters it becomes a drag, especially yhr skills over 100% stuff. I concluded for future the best way would be like Pendragon really (though people will probably hate it) so here goes: 1 attack roll. 1 defence roll. If the...

    The Indestructable Parry

I see what your saying, leave the AP as it stands, they just can't be broke (as indestructable tends to mean). Thought you menat infinate APs, so can't be hurt... That's more or less my thoughts. This comes about as I am playing a Hero of Fantasy Sesh and a character has an indestructable...

Magic Armour, well made Armour and the Skill Penalty

Metal and Infinity, each Mag adds +1 damage or +1AP permanently utter balls, wich I suppose is why it is legendary. But Yes I think just use the basic armour pens would be right. cheers

    The Indestructable Parry

So should they some how make/find (i admit a gm giving them this should be strung up) an indestuctable suit or armour, with the exception of a siege engine attack (this ignores AP) they can pretty much waste anything. With a wepon, my weedy can parry an ogre's huge axe, seems silly to me.

Magic Armour, well made Armour and the Skill Penalty

Here is a quick question, if you enchant armour for extra APs, does it's skill penalty increase? If you use magic such as temper metal (a ridiculously powerful rune spell! from Legendary) does this increase the skill penalty? If you get well crafted armour (Companion) that adds APs does this...

    The Indestructable Parry

The Parry in RQ seems reasonable system, weapons add a few AP to the location, great for those pesky trollkin. But against the beast of beasts with a 3d8 damage score, is pap. Bring on the shield for those much needed extra APs. However I have noted that if the item is indestructable it has...

    Single Rolls vs Double Rolls

I like the funky sound, also it does go back to an early debate re Mastery rune. I have rethought and I think I will have a go with 2 rolls, as the 1st game I am running is a legendary 1-off tournement style adventure. The Wepon skills are over 100, so they ain't going to miss, so on the opposed...

    Single Rolls vs Double Rolls

If the attack fails, the only reason to defend then would possibly be a riposte/overextended, as fail vs Fail = Success. Anyway I have arguments for the munchkins on the day, so will probably go for 1 roll declare reactions etc

    Single Rolls vs Double Rolls

It's part of the unrealted Poll to Question Forum Post, a crazy new trend..
