I'm glad to see Mongoose has learned the lesson of not putting the cart before the horse.
Really. I'm skeptically optimistic about WOTS. I've just seen too many companies making too many promises about Absolutely Fantastic Stuff Coming Soon(TM) and then failing miserably to follow through...
Like it or not, Mongoose as a company is ultimately responsible for the quality of the products it sells.
Saying that it's the manufacturers fault the figures look like ass is nothing more than a lame excuse for a lack of quality control on Mongoose's part.
Given the quality problems...
Comparing BF:EVO to Clix or D&D/Star Wars is not the issue, as far as I'm concerned.
Mongoose promised exceedingly high quality on these paintjobs. I'd like to see some pictures that aren't provided by the company of miniatures from the field, but I understand those are probably at least a...
Previews are fine, but don't attach dates to them until the product is in-hand and has passed a quality inspection prior to shipping. When you give a date you create an agreement (implied or otherwise) with your customers that you have a plan in place to meet those dates. With as often as...
And that's an example of something they can control very easily by changing an internal policy. Instead they sow disappointment with every missed date.
And exactly why does mongoose deserve good faith?
Everything they've produced for SST and BF:EVO to date has been hyped-up to Everest, and every single product has been some combination of Behind Schedule, Shoddy Quality, Bad Sculpts, Mispacking or outright Vaporware. From the SST Starter box...
And we're surprised by this how?
Personally, I find it difficult to believe that no one from the company checked a shipment for quality before these were set loose upon the supply chain.
My interest in Mongoose began with SST in April of '05. I'd need a database to keep track of all the...
I just wanted to let you folks know that this (hopefully still) impending release came up at our weekly game night last night and there was lots of interest.
Any news? Will it be prepainted? Is it still on the horizon for 2007?
I don't mean to sound condescending, but if your experience with d20 is limited to dungeons then your DM is lacking.
I've been in an ongoing D&D campaign for more than a year and all of three sessions have been indoors.
Tied again.
They're Painting and shooting pics of the models anyway. Why pay extra for art? Even GW have stopped doing box art on everything but their battalions/battleforces in favor of pictures of the actual models...
Done, and it's very hard to read the black text on the dark red of the logo, even with the watermark effect.
Perhaps if it was faded out more it would look somewhat better, but I think if it was converted to B/W with the red part of the text changed to white or even a light gray it would be...
Honestly, the only thing I don't like is that the logo underneath the weapons/abilities list on the back will make it very hard to read and text that overlaps it.
If you could find/create a black & white logo to go underneath the text and be watermarked/faded out it would be much more readable...
