OK, I see. Sorry, I don't know if Don has made any changes to the UWPs. The manuscript is literally in its last day or so before it gets sent off to the Mongoose sausage factory to be turned into a tasty and nicely presented meal. :D Just how long that extra cooking will take, I don't know.

I'm sure he'll do fine with it. So long as it's close to the GT Zho stuff, with his own spin on it, I'll be happy.

As long as he didn't use the GT version of the Addaxur...

Why?

Minding that the GT version of the Addaxur is the only one I've ever seen, so where else have you seen it?

The GT version, the Clotho, are from Dave Pulver's home campaign, and were not originally designed to be the Addaxur. Some of Dave's stuff has wandered back and forth from Traveller to Spacemaster and, with the GT Aliens books, back to Traveller. It shows.

I don't mind them as the Clotho, but they are not the Addaxur.

Kind of another check in the box of: GT - The OTHER ATU *joking*

Ahhh. I see, mostly.

But where were the Addaxur originally, the non-Clotho ones?

Where they've always been, in subsector G of Tienspevnekr, described as six-limbed heavy-worlders with a pre-contact domain of several dozen colonies settled by STL. They get along quite well with the Zhodani, to the point of keeping a group of exclusive worlds within the Consulate, something no other race has ever been granted.

Its a matter of perspective, I suppose. The Clotho are a decent match for the Zhodani as Imperial propaganda paints them: cold, calculating, mind readers who shop at the same stores as Ming the Merciless and plot the downfall of the Imperium.

I've spent far too long crawling around in the Zhodani headspace (I was the HIWG Sector Analyst for Tienspevnekr over 20 years ago, and also did the Zhodani part of Far Frontiers and four subsectors in Ziafrplians and Iakr) for the Clotho to feel right.

Considering what the stated objectives of the Campaign Guide are and thus the inherent difficulty in fulfilling them, I suspect it's proving to be a bit more difficult and/or laborious than first expected. If they pull it off, it may well be a true innovation in rpg publishing.

What I'd be interested to know is if it is a 3rd Imperium based product or generic. The former would be much easier to design I suspect.

Just an update on these two...

Zhodani is in proofing now and will be going off to print this month.

The manuscript for the Campaign Guide is in now, and is just awaiting a final review before it goes into editing.

Both of these books are very close now!

If it is generic I will definitely purchase.

Traveller - the only game where generic means good

The thing is that I have >30 years of 3I centric campaign material and the rules are bent that way. I'd like a setting neutral rule set for Trav.

Maybe I'll write one using the SRD...
