ZBD-2000 (aka WZ-506) Airborne IFV - China and Iran

Mr Evil

Mongoose
ok the wz-506 i think would be a great adition to the game, both the mea and the pla use them, so one modle into 2 collections has to bee a cool thing for MGP to look into

basicly its a tracked version of their current wz-551 ifv but with a AT missile onboard, possably D10+3 at 40-60" range, one shot.

plus i love tracked IFVs :D

great for the MEA and a nice alternative for the PLA

while we are at it can we have some cheap type 98s

Nice IFV, but I am against the idea of any factions sharing equipment in the game (well at least not untill each faction has about a couple of dozen different units available to them) as they really need to make each faction distinctive, having shared units will hinder that to much.

I like the look! I think the tracks are too narrow though. I recall some older tracked vehicles (the Sherman comes to mind) having narrow tracks and absolutely sucking for maneuverabilty on muddy ground. But it looks nice :)

I must disagree with Cordas about shared equipment though. The arms export business makes shared equipment more common than we'd like to think. At least Externally, as an examplle when the US or the USSR sold stuff to other countries they routinely remove some of the more sophisticated equipment from the insides, thereby making slightly ( sometimes very) inferior to what the manufacturer supplied the sponsoring country.

Agreed, but depending on design, it could be as light as an M113 and not suffer from bog down as much.

My arguement isn't about the realities of the arms trade and common equipment across diverese forces that might end up fighting each other.

My point is that I want distinct game factions, where my EFTF play differently to my mates PLA, or USMC. If each faction has acess to equipment of different factions then you are going to end up with very similar forces facing each other. Given the real world near future setting there aren't going to be any alien races, machine intelligences, chaotic forces to fight against (PLEASE NO!!!) so MGP is going to have to work harder to keep each faction distinct........
