Emperor Mongoose
Me doth thinks there needs to be a few more designs out there for the uber wealthy. Who wants to ply the space lanes in a teeny-tiny 200Dton Yacht?

In the billionaire boat wars, a new record holder is making waves. The Emirati royal family has run the Russians aground with its seaworthy superbeast: The brand-new ship Azzam, at 590 feet, overshadows the Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich's yacht, Eclipse, by 57 feet.

The bigger boat came at a price: According to CNN, just to build the thing cost $605 million. And that doesn't include the cost for upkeep, which can be 10 percent of the boat's price, per year.

*Faints*

I think I'm up for designing a yacht for normal games soon, after I do some needed deckplans for my current game. I liked making luxury designs a few years ago, think I can come up with a new one for typical usage in most games.

But as I said after doing a few things first.

The 1000-ton freighter from the core book would likely have a yacht variant.
Also, the 1200-ton liner from the Scoundrels book would as well. (I personally like this ship.)

Somebody said:
LKW in his "Booklet" about the 600dt Subbie also did a yacht variant of the ship. J3/M1 and the space of 20+ passenger cabins to play with make for a nice base.

Some of the cargo ships form MgT might make a good base as well.

You are right. You can pick up a copy for e23 for just $8. The pdf booklet lists 4 variations (passenger liner*2, merc cruiser and yacht).

Interesting point is that the booklet states it carries a pair of launches or a 50ton modular cutter outfitted as lifeboats.

My experience of yachts is that lots of big staterooms is the way to go... cargo is only for carrying luxuries. Some crew rooms are needed, but if the passengers are "game", then they are less important.

Have a glass and "pitch in"!

Going another way - specialize the interior of a 30-dton module and then rent cargo space at Cr. 30,000 per trip. You get a 30-ton living space, someone else pays for the ship. AND at only Cr.30K per trip, cheaper than buying 4 High Passages and you can carry more servants!
