Writing scenarios

Hi,

A friend of mine and I are hoping to find time to :-
1) create interesting characters
2) generate background material
3) write (initially small scale) scenarios/episodes
4) knit the scenarios together into a chronicle/series

I've got some Writer's Digest books I'm studying, including 1) Plot 2) Dynamic characters and 3) Scenes

Does anyone have any hints for us newbies?

TIA

Ian

Are you planning to design entire scenarios and campaigns for your own use or release them online?

It's never easy to write and create - and to be true to the spirit of role playing you need to keep things open ended slightly as well so that makes it harder.

Hi Optimusnorm,

I used to live in Dubai when I was a child, years ago. I bet a few things have changed since then :)

Well I need to get them written first :). Then played. After that I suppose I could make them available but be warned - my creativity lies with words rather than pictures. Previous scenarios done by me (AD&D 2e) relied a lot on ad-libbing but I suppose I/we could devise them this time round with a view to making them available.

Dubai's a different world today - I came over in 2000 and it's changed since then so I can only imagine how it would feel to you :o)

We need more players here so feel free to turn your life upside down come over haha. Have an interesting multinational group, a Brit, two Americans, a South African and an Emirati whose mum is English....only in Dubai!
