word data information trade rules?

so I know we can trade "stuff"

but what about getting planetary information and then selling it to a global data library or to other private organizations.

Any rules for something like this?

I believe the word you're looking for is Scout.....

CT's Adventure 0 Imperial Fringe is exactly this sort of adventure. You send in reports about the worlds UWPs that you visit, plus there is a provided Scout Bout and smallish stipend to boot....

Did you play Starflight I or II, I don't think there are rules especially made for selling planetary data. But with Traveller you could make them up. The 3rd Imperium I cannot see having to many undiscovered worlds, but a new homebrewed setting based on exploration and settlement could very well have those propertys.
