Will Mongoose be participating in Free RPG game this year?

I am trying to get my local game store to let me run a Traveller introduction on Free RPG day but they point out Mongoose isn't listed as a sponsor.

Why does it matter if Mongoose is listed as sponsor?

That's a good question. I'm not the store so I don't know why that is a point of contention for them. I would conjecture that the sponsors provide some sort of incentive package to draw people in, in other words free stuff. Even if it's just a repackaged lot of what they already give away like PDFs and such. Who knows. All I know is I want to build a Traveller community in my area and hopefully start drawing in younger players before us Grognards pass from the scene.

For the past couple of years Mongoose have given away an adventure for free at Christmas, Death Station and Stranded.

There is also the Explorer edition that is $1 and meant to be given out, used to encourage others to join into the full ecosystem.
