Why Sindal?

In a region with such gaps, you'd think collapsible tanks would be a given to any crew who want to expand beyond whatever cluster they start in. A jump 1 Free Trader would lose 0.2 dtons cargo space permanently to store a fuel bladder at a cost of Cr.100 and remove 20 out of 81 dtons of cargo space when making a J2 transit. Come on, everyone on the crew cough up Cr.20-25 to buy one before the first flight! For that price, you just beat out any competition who can't justify the cost and the subsector just opened up to you without upping your mortgage or maintenance expenses.

For MgT2, in stead of 25% for a free trader, you can allow your players to pick a Far Trader, that is... if you think a single person with a Far Trader will upset the balance of the Galactic economy. Personally I would let the players chose what they want if it's the same hull size.
All it means is less cargo but higher ship payments and maintenance, offset by better range and flexibility.

If you think it's an unfair advantage for what every your reasons might be, you can make it 20% for a Far Trader while keeping the 25% for a Free Trader.

It's easier with a points system, than randomizing character generation.

It could be any hulk found in a planetary scrapyard, and ship shares are actually gift certificates for ship components.
