White Star fighters

WS Fighters are horribly effective at Critting big ships into ineffectiveness.

Oh, don't I know it...

As far as dealing with Whitestar Fighters goes I'd echo everyone else, deploy lots of your own fighters, even if they die they will leave the Whitestars sat in space sitting ducks for twin particle arrays and Matter cannons.

Is it better to prioritise the fighters when shooting, then? As opposed to the White Stars and the Carrier (we were playing Assassinate)...

I don't think I'll ever forget the last game, Centauro Adira Takes a 6-2 Critical in turn 2, Centauri player moans that if it stays it'll certainly take a 1-3 6 or a 4-6 and be taken out my reply so Jump out (I wouldn't have shot at it with an Octurian still VERY active) but he decides not to leave just yet after all 8 dice of prcise DD SAP beam are hard to give up. 5 WS Fighters proceed to get a 3-6 and a 4-6....

Well if there are other things in range maybe not, but every fighter you kill is a guaranteed reduction in firepower next turn (Even if they respawn from the carrier they can't shoot next turn) once the fighters are dead your own fighters can at least give the whitestars a hard time.

Though Whitestars too are horribly vulnerable if they fail a dodge so...

I mostly play ISA, but I know I find Whitestar Fighters die REALLY quickly if concentrated on by twin arrays and after that the ISA can struggle against fighter heavy opponents (or at least it forces me to worry about fighters so I am reacting rather than acting)

Hence my purchase of two shiny new Carriers with fighter compliment :)
Powergaming scumbag :P

I need to get more...

I hate power gamers too should be strung up, 101 ways to take down power gamers

new fleet should be here soon

.... Powergaming Scumbag?! Moi?

Back on topic...I recently fought a game against ISA (against Burger) and his WS Fighters tore my fleet apart too..then again I was using Shadows, perhaps the worst fleet to take on WS Fighters.

Anyone had any successful strategies with other fleets vs. ISA?

Morshins loaded with Tishats.

Or Avengers/Posseidons loaded with Starfuries. Of course you will need some way to actually take down the WS carrier too but thats nothing compared to stopping the fighters.

Or, of course, DagKars....

Yeah, I was having some success with the twin arrays on the Primus, but even then my opponent was rolling lots of 5s/6s to get the fighters back! The Carrier as a whole seems like a pretty tough thing to get rid of. I guess lots of beamy goodness and an imperial buttload of Sentri would be the way to go...

Yep large number of Sentris or better yet Raziks are the way to go, on a Balvarix if you can afford it. I find the ISA are very vulnerable to fighters in any case and the WS Carrier is a tough, but beatable war level ship without them.

Cheesy gave me an idea. If there are multiple carriers on the board within range of a squadron that gets killed, do both carriers have a chance of recovering the fighters?

It makes sense that this would be the case, but I wonder if it has been ruled otherwise.

No. The "recovery" means that the flight attempting to return to the Fleet Carrier in a smashed up state, and the carrier is able to assist and get them up and running into a viable flight again. The flight can't attempt to return to 2 carriers simultaneously. It is not some magical effect whereby the flight respawns. This is ACTA not WOW ;)

This is also clearly indicated from the lack of 'OMG Centauri Shamans are overpowered!" threads ;) And far less ganking by undead rogues. Still it would be nice to be able to turn some neutron lasers on SOME players in alot of MMOs.....

Actually tbh Im not playing ANY MMOs at the moment, as frankly Im simply not at home long enough (and before you say I know you can train etc in EVE when your not online (which is a FANTASTIC feature imho) but you still cant gain money etc so I still dont have time to play ;)
