Also, on a personal note, my entire Early Years fleet is white, Third Age fleet grey, Crusade fleet dark grey and Psi Corps fleet black.

@ Locutus: You mean him?
LOL, IIRC there was someone else actually but I've just run with the same idea :)

It also helps keep ships from each fleet separate and I can of course still "borrow" ships if I need to.
I was one person who wanted to do that and posted that idea a couple of years back. However I doubt that I was the first. Like all good ideas it is worth doing even if it is copying someone's earlier idea. Imation is after all the sincerest form of flattery.

Cheers

Not all paint is just paint think of the RAM paint used on stealth fighters.

Some of that colour could also be anodised on during construction

Most of my hyperions use a dark grey base planning on lighting it up with a lighter highlight.

I have one hyperion I got bored and painted it to look like the General Lee from dukes of hazard just need to paint a flag on the sensor dish

I tend ot blame color difference on The animators more than anything else-When you see Hyperions on screen with other ships they appear to be the same color

Also some good shots in In The Begining I might try scanning later- both of the Prometheus group & lexington group showing the Hyperions the same color as the Novas

Why were people doubting the Aegean?-its always been in Endgame!
Eheres the captures from the Prometheus Group (Novas & Hyperions):

In this one the Nova actually does look a hair darker

And an overlap shot

And while I have the disc in the tray 3 more from In the Begining:
Hyperion & Olympus, the Olympus appears much lighter due to lightsourcing:

Hyperions,Nova & Olymups without Lightsourcing, and they appear to be the same color

And finally Novas & Hyperions, definietly the same color:

.

At this point Ill stick by my claim-all EF ships are pretty much the same color, they just keep adjusting the lighting on them

@ HowardDevore: the Aegean is just less well known than the other Hyperions since it was never mentioned by name

Well guys, come to think of it... it also wouldn't be surprising that ships of the same class got painted a bit differently. It's been known to happen in the real world. And some Hyperions are older than the others.
So some Hyperions are white, some are medium grey, some are light grey. I can live with that 8)

I'm also going with the approach that there wasn't any one single shade of grey for EA ships of the same class. Even if they're bare metal and not painted, it could be variations in the alloys used at any given time/place.
