When will SST get a release schedule update?

I've heard from "upon high" that SST Evo is still Alive. They're working very hard to get it out and get it right.

The problem with ground breaking products is that the ground is sometimes granite!

As soon as more concrete info is available, they'll put it out.

I'm easily pleased, so that is good enough for me. :)

I'll be more then content to wait for them to get a really good second edition taking the time to do it right rather than something rushed to meet an artificial deadline. Besides, I only just got all the army books and I've got decent sized MI and Bug armies painted up, so I'm only going to use the prepaints to bulk out some units. Nothing current is OOP yet and my group is averaging maybe a game a month since we started playing last summer. I'm going to Gencon and I'll give the new version a look see, but even if the game is just as good as 1st ed. I'm not going to come back from the convention and burn all my 1-2yr old rulebooks while waiting for the new version.

From the word GO! If it comes say tomorrow then it would be released mid-august now wouldn't it? (or maybe late august).

How fast you think they can release game after word go has been given anyway? One would think simply producing suitable stock to sell would take time(hopefully there won't be such stock issues as BF:Evo had...Maybe they have learnt their lesson...)

Mongoose is going to be lucky if they have stock to sell at Gencon basically, and thats assuming they stuck the order in today.
Also this is assuming they dont get back a hundred crates of googly eyed warrior bugs, or lami with skin colored helmets... God knows how long that will take to sort out (Unless they're sold off regardless again?).

Still if Mongoose do get this ready in time for Gencon they should have a success on their hands, assuming they aren't more expensive than BF:E figures :D

If they don't have the figures, I would guess they'll have the rules/cards for people to use during the 500pt tournament.

I would assume they'll make an announcement so people bring their "classic" SST stuff for the tournament if the figures don't make it. If I weren't carpooling with a bunch of other people, I'd bring my stuff to lend out.

Yeah, thats probably a better solution for Mongoose thinking about it too, one last chance to make some space in the store rooms by selling as much V1 as they can! Probably why they're sticking to bugs and MI as well lol :D

I was reading into the 45 day time as a vendor cycle time from order placement to delivery. I'd wonder if that delivery window includes shipping to 3rd party distributors or retailers, or whether it is simply to the Mongoose HQ. If the later then I could see product being available for debut at Gencon, but then there being some delay getting it out into the general market. But that is all just idle speculation on my part.

If I get to Gencon and find no SST:Evo product available I might be a little dissapointed. But if I find all the current models available on inventory clearance sale, then I think it will heal any short term emotional scarring. I really want to add some more Tanker and Plasma Bugs..or max out on Ripplers.

I'm looking forward to playing in the 500 point scenario (note to self- register for game) but I doubt I'll be able to bring much of my own stuff because I'm also carpooling with a large group of guys.
