What's the Deal with no scouts in SF?

One base does get it.

There are a large pool of ships in the SFU that have scout channels but they are somewhat secondary to the fighting ships - so expect them in expansions and supplements. It has been annouced that some will be made available soon (so I expect in the Call to Arms Journal) and there are a couple of threads on that.

I suspect that they knew Scouts were a significant part of fleet actions in SFB at least and so included the rule (its similar in B5 ACtA) and then had to make space in the rulebook and Scouts wholesale got pulled.
 
Scouts are supposed to be in the ACTA mini magazine, that Matt promised is arriving soon :wink:

A scout for each of the main races plus the rules tidied up and modified.

Many Photon users are waiting eagerly, Plasma races not so much :roll:
 
Scouts may well significantly boost the performance of drones at long range as well, as 5+ rerolling misses is a lot better than 5+.
 
Personally I'd like to see an Antidrone function of Scouts, plus I'll be fascinated to see how the number of scout channels on a vessel affects its scouting performance.

They'll want them too, if only to jam everybody else's ;)
