What setting do you use for YTU?

I'll probably go the classic way of SM.

Love the Verge though... Star Drive was a really good setting to a really good Sci-Fi game. Maybe somewhere down the line I'll have enough spare time to convert that material to Traveller? Yeah right... ;)

Im using Spinward Marches and even running the classic "Traveller Adventure"; I guess I'm going old school!

I am running a campaign set in the Spinward Marches as well. I am going to be using a lot of older CT stuff and some Megatraveller adventures as well for inspiration.

Next time I'll referee a Traveller campaign, I'll set it in Canopus (rimward-spinward from the Solomani Rim) in the 1248 milieu.

Hey, I'm running one next door in Aldebaran in 1248.

Cool.

Yep, that region is great for two reasons.

First, cannon is extra-light that far to the Rimward, so you could do almost whatever you want with it without having to avoid stepping on too many toes.

Second, the region is quite rich with political intrigue and cold-wars: Second Rule of Man vs. the Terran Commonwealth, Gengineered "super-men" vs. the Second Rule of Man, Aslan ihatei vs. Solomani nationalists, independent ex-Solomani states vs. each other and vs. the SRoM, and I'd bet that the Hivers have a tentacle in the pie, too...

I was planning on running a game in a newly built sector at the intersection of the Imperium, Solomani Confederation and the Aslan.

But there's so much material available for the Spinward Marches and I have so little time to develop my own material, I may end up moving it.

If I had a lot of free time... maybe after a Lottery induced retirement... I would tackle a setting based on Peter Hamilton's writing. (Mostly Night's Dawn with a little bit of Pandora's Star.)

My OTU games are now set in the Spinward Marches and surrounding sectors in the 1248 setting.

In MTU, I have a setting that is on the far side of the Pleiades Star Cluster and it is there that I fiddle with the rules a bit working things out. Currently I have 3 milieus that I am fleshing out:

Milieu 500: First Contact
Milieu 1000: War and Collapse (or maybe victory depending on the players)
Milieu 1500: Recovery and Recontact

Heh, ain't the place.... All that lovely space, devoid of cannon...

Couple that with nearly 3000 years of Terran space flight you have one hell of an region.

So far, no game :( but I am brainstorming a small setting about the size of a subsector with few factions and independent systems.

So far it seems to be amalgam of many influences but definitely not OTU (what would be the point of re-creating the same thing?).

Depending on how it will work out and how our gaming group will react to rules etc. I am considering to convert Iron Empires/Burning Empires to MGT rules set.
