what monsters are in the new book?

is it possible to get a list or a sneak preview of the index or contents for the new monster book? just o we can see what ones are in there. and is it a non setting specific book or will the beasties be more geared toa certain setting?

The range of monsters is fairly generic and setting neutral, but there are Glorantha specific beasts in there too.

As a taster, the chapters (pre-editing) were:
01 Arenas - Gladiators, gladiatorial contests, and chariot racing
02 Monsters Introduction - creature rules and traits
03 Humans and Humanoids - basically most of the sapient races
04 Arachnids and Insects - from ants to spiders
05 Dinosaurs and Reptiles - from alligators to velociraptors
06 Creatures of Legend - classical and horror creatures from basilisks to zombies
07 Mammals - Normal animals of all kinds
08 The Mean Arena - arenas in different campaign settings

Loz has been very comprehensive in the number and range of creatures covered, and has also included notes describing favoured combat manoeuvres and tactics. I am looking forwards to getting my copy!

Sometimes there's no pleasing some people :wink:

There's a few examples of avians and piscines, split amongst several of the chapters, but not enough to warrant their own section. They are not normally creatures which adventurers meet in combat, and make for very poor displays of gladiatorial combat.

There's the Iqari. Bird-men.

Very scary. Don't mess with them.
