What kind of RPG did you play right before MRQ came out, and are you regularily playing MRQ now? (not asking what you may have played in the past).

Various campaigns using the Elric rules, but not the setting (which you should have added to the list) and Bushido.

The friday night game has now changed to MRQ with house-ruled combat.

Wouldn't "Other systems before, MRQ now" cover that? Being a poll-maker is a hard job. There's always people who want more options!

Well, that's what I voted! I just though that there would be as many players using the Elric rules as RQ3. There I go making assumptions again...

All sorts of stuff, but Runequest 3, Stormbringer 5 and Warhammer being the main ones, with Classic Traveller, Godlike and GURPS lower on hte ranks

I mainly played Cthulhu before myself, as a GM, and a good bit of d20, even though I am not a big fan of it.

1) Game just before MRQ was Pendragon
2) MRQ came out, and I switched to L5R3E
3) I'm currently running Ars Magica and Tunnels and Trolls.

MRQ just is not quite what my players need right now.

Was playing many games before MRQ came out as I played in two groups then (only 1 now) and we rotated games each month.

Star Wars D20 RCR (GMed)
Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 1st Ed (Played)
Call of Cthulhu (Played)
Shadowrun 3rd Ed (GMed)
Everquest (played)

Not currently playing MRQ as I still don't like the combat system either original or Player's Update (if anything I prefer the original over the update). I don't want to house rule and so for now I am likely not to play MRQ

I haven't really been active in RPGs since TETSNBN (D&D 3e to those of you not on Dragonsfoot ) came in. I just couldn't jell with the new ruleset, and it coloured my impressions of the new supplements and adventures. None of my (admittedly small) local gaming peers wanted to stick with my preferred options; they weren't "cool" enough - and I wasn't creative enough to hold their interest.

It felt, for the longest time, that my hobby (mine since 1982) had left me behind; only my occasional postings to the DF Classic D&D forum have kept me connected. MRQ is the very first "new" system since then I've felt comfortable with, despite the flaws (and what system doesn't have those? :roll: ). I've enjoyed all the output so far, and have high hopes of getting a physical game going very soon.

So, a quiet but heartfelt thank you to Mongoose, to this forum and its denizens. You've let me come back in.

As a master* of frivolous polls I always include the "I hate this stupid poll because it doesn't have what I really want to answer" poll option.

Though it gets grossly abused on simple yes/no polls.

*By "Master" I mean "Total Hack"

well im not playing any rpg. at the moment, but i started playing drakar och Demoner in the early 80´s and that game system was based on basic roleplay. I did play Elric! a lot..too
i still buy roleplaying games but i don't play anything anymore.
If i had an oppertunity to GM the games i'd would like to run would be:
1. Savage worlds
2. Harp
3. true 20
4. Mrq
5. d6
this depending with whom i would be GMing.
I do lilke MRQ. but i feel hat the presentation/ text are.. not giving me the "kick" to want to gm. if icould play as a player i would probably be moore in to "it".

Another flaw... I used to play RQ2. Now I play both RQ2 and MRQ.

I have been running D&D 3.5E before, while playing in a Call of Cthulhu Dark Ages campaign. I have plans for MRQ, and also have plans for D&D and plans for BESM D20. And plans for D6. Lots and lots of plans.

But no gaming.

Now we play an RQ3 Variant (weekly) and HeroQuest (monthly).
