What Kind of Books are You Interested In?

That reminds me, seen Blackrock yet, Warlock?

Hey Darren, yes, going to get it this week still ... I meant to get back to you about it but got totally sidetracked!

It is a pirate haven, right? :D

Aye, it is indeed!

I may end up doing a Legend conversion of this, since it is system agnostic at the moment.

Please do. And if you want to produce a few more... I for one, am very interested.
Same goes for you too Dale. This is the type of supplement I'd like to see more of. A very useful tool for GM's.

I suppose what I could do is release a set of Legend statted NPCs for the supplement as an addon, which might work better than actually putting a page at the back and putting out 2 Blackrock PDFs.

I have also been toying with the idea of putting a couple of Legend statted S&S protagonists from my short stories up on the forum. Just as a nice little thing.

Cool. That would be a great help to a lot forum users.

I'd be interested to learn from your experiences translating characters from your short stories to the Legend system - it might provide some insights into the best way to translate fictional characters into game terms...

This is one of the things I've been doing for years. For various systems on and off, a lot of d20 indie based stuff through Tabletop Adventures and Dark Quest Games, Prime_Evil. It helps when you're looking at a system like Legend with no character levels, where a character can be built around strong choices in terms of skills and abilities.

For example, the short story I'm working on (when not doing SGB or other freelance work) has a character called Salik Amra. He could be described as Conan meets Sinbad. So I'm looking at Legend skills which would support him character wise and thematically.

Boating and Shiphandling are definitely at the top of that list.

My preferences in terms of upcoming books;

Steer clear of settings and NPC books. The RPG world is awash in settings, and in a game like Legend, how could you make a useful NPC book that covers all the time periods and genres the game can handle?

Steer clear of licenses, unless the author/owner comes to Legend looking for a home.

Adventures. Make it easy for people to pick up the game and play a good, rip-roaring fun adventure. Something to run at cons or the FLGS. Something that you can mine for ideas, npcs and plot points, or drop into an established campaign.

Cults. A book of cults, like over 100, would be great. Religious cults. Knightly Orders. Assassin tribes.

But a lot of this I feel the fan community can start contributing as well. A few more cultural sourcebooks would be fun (Rome, the Celts, Mongols, Native Americans!!!).
