What is my narn fleet missing ?

So, to date I've never played a game of ACtA, since I set myself the task of getting the ships painted first, though I've read the rules, fleet lists and watched a few games, so feel I have a basic grasp on things at least.

Now to date my painting has amounted to most of a G'Quan, since its not my primary mini line so isn't getting that much focus and I've set myself somewhat of a high standard for these ships, but hopefully I'l start getting a bit more done soonish when my primary mini line gets more of the core finished ("Only play with painted figures" being a recent development to motivate me to get painting and working well so far)

What I have right now :

(Nearly) painted:
1 G'Quan

Assembled:
4 Sho'Kos
12 bases Frazi
4 bases Gorith

2 Ka'Toc
1 Thentus
1 G'Karith

1 Var'Nic
1 T'Loth

There are three more G'Quans unassembled (the one assembled I'd class as being a "poor" cast and the remaining three are somewhat worse.. so they may remain so) and one G'Vrahn in limbo/delivery when the moon and planets align just so :wink:

Now the original plan was to have a bit of choice in 5 or so point patrol/skirmish/raid, maybe even battle level fleets while I got used to the game, with any further expansion coming once I had a better idea of what I wanted, but it doesn't look like I'l get to play before I lose the ability to expand further.

So, finally to the question for those who've waded through my rambling!

What, will I desperately miss if I don't get now ?

It seems to me I'd probably be well off getting to at least 2 each of the raid and down ships (maybe a few more Var'Nic and sho'kos ?) and maybe picking up a second g'vrahn and first bin'tak, ka'bintak, would that be about right ?

That sounds pretty decent IYAM. You might try and see if Mongoose would replace your G'Quans while you have a chance though.

Originally there was one terrible cast and three sub-poor casts, I sent the box back, and they returned it with the terrible cast replaced, thus where I am today :wink:

You need a Ka'Bin'Tak or two Very awesome ships. G'Vrahns are just south of broken, so get a few of those too.

Past that, you need lots of Dag'Kars, plus Ka'Tocs and Sho'Kavs. Solid fleet otherwise.

a lot still depends i suppose on personal preference,
but i would add, a couple of gvrahns, bin tak,ka bin tak, or just proxy the bin tak,
couple more ka tocs,2 -3 more thentus, the same for thentus,maybe some rongoths,
that will give you a more rounded fleet

Since your existing fleet isn't huge anyway, I don't think you really need more than 1 G'Vrahn, but I'd get a Bin'Tak and Ka'Bin'Tak for completeness.

What I would definitely get though is:

1-3 more Var'Nics
1-3 more G'Kariths
1-4 Dag'Kars
1 more Thentus
2 Sho'Kar
2 T'Rakk
1 Rongoth (just for fun!)
Enough Frazi/Gorith to fill your ships

That should give you enough to play with all priority levels.
