What do you use for drop ships?

Warhawk

Mongoose
I know some where there are some nice ships that will work great that don't cost a arm and leg. I have thought about GW and FW but those are pretty high, even the MW drop ships but what else am I missing?

I know someone has found something to get by with

Thanks

Well you could always make your own paper model space ship, ala these:http://paperstarships.tengun.net/

But I think what you're actually asking for is the address for Old Crow Models:

old crow models does one, the Crow Lander, 15mm scale.

make the troop compartment bigger and you got yourself a retreival boat! :P

You've got to love the GI Joe Sigma 6 Dropship - just a slight bit of modification and it's perfect, it's got the CGI series MI 'look' about it perfectly. I picked one up when I was in the States a couple of weeks ago, and it's fantastic.

Does anyone have a pic of the Sigma 6 dropship compared to SST minis? I have seen the ads for it, so I know what it looks like, but I would like to see it compared to some of the figs.

Here's a pic, although not a very good one I'm afraid. The three shiny blobs (two in the front and one in the detachable drop-pod) are unpainted MI heavy weapons crew, but at least they do a good job of showing the enormity of the Sigma 6.

Here's much bigger picture, showing much more prettiness and the fact it's a long bit of kit too - also bear in mind the figures it comes with are pretty much twice the size of a SST CAP trooper, so the detachable bay would arguably fit a full unit (especially if you drop some plasticard inside it to add 'walls' and then say it's dual-level) . Oh, and the huge guns on the side of the cockpit in my original picture are optional, they can either be removed (as in this pic) or repositioned on the sides of the landing leg missile pods.

I got it in a Target store for $30 (which in proper British money is just £20).

Yeah, that whole new smaller Sigma Six line is about 54mm scale. Great stuff if you want to mix it in with some current modern 1/35 armor and 1/32 helicopters.

I tend towards using smaller models on flying bases - I've often used a Micro Machines Action Fleet Aliens Dropship for a slingshot, and a Gundam Mobile Suit in Action Skygrasper for a TAC fighter.

I bought a cheap Osprey in 25 mm and just took off the props but left the engine housing. Threw on a couple fiddly bit and missiles and I have a Slingshot.

It was this one I'm pretty sure.
